18.4.4 Stockings

It's December in Aetolia, that means stockings are available from the website in celebration of Celesmas! Ironbeard will fill them up a short while after they are hung, and the owner can then open them and collect their contents!

There are four tiers of stockings, with each subsequent tier yielding greater prizes than the one before it. 

* Festive / Trick : 16 credits minimum
* Fancy           : 45 credits minimum
* Grand           : 200 credits minimum
* Extravagant     : 600 credits minimum

Syntaxes

HANG STOCKING FOR ME
- Hang a stocking up for yourself, and it will be filled with prizes after a few minutes!

HANG STOCKING FOR <friend> [ANONYMOUS]
- Hang a stocking for a friend, as a gift, and Ironbeard will fill it a few minutes later.
- Hanging them anonymously hides your name from the notification and delays it slightly so you can make your escape!

STOCKINGS
- Lists all stockings you have, their location, and their filled status.

OPEN STOCKING [ANONYMOUS]
- Once it has been filled, claim your prize(s)!

Gold and Platinum stockings are special and fill up on Christmas Day and 1st January respectively.

Prizes
------

Each stocking has a minimum target value, and there are a number of prize pools at different credit thresholds. Your stocking will pick from the tier it falls into by stocking type and be filled with one or more prizes in order to meet or exceed that value, drawing on the tiers below it (where applicable) in order to fill in any gaps.

Festive / Trick Stocking, minimum value: 16 credits
Credits, iron coins, relic coffers*, compendium pages**, elemental globes, minipets***, chocolates, the winter vox, elusion crystals, style scrolls****, fireworks.

Fancy Stocking, minimum value: 45 credits
Credits, iron coins, various artifacts in the 50 credit range, relic coffers*, chocolate bags, customisation certificates, cracked scroll cases**, and prizes from the previous tier.

Fancy stockings are guaranteed to have at least 1 relic coffer in them.

Grand Stocking, minimum value: 200 credits
Credits, iron coins, various artifacts in the 100-350 credit range, hunting boon tokens, relic coffers*, tattoo tokens, antiquated salvage, steed whistles for the new mount "an enormous, flat-billed pelican", and prizes from the previous tiers.

Grand stockings are guaranteed to have at least 2 relic coffers in them.

Extravagant Stocking, minimum value: 550 credits
Credits, iron coins, various artifacts in the 400-2000 credit range, relic coffers*, antiquated salvage, city house deeds, and prizes from the previous tiers.

Extravagant stockings are guaranteed to have at least 5 relic coffers in them.

* Relic coffers contain pieces from the following selection:
grapnel, observereyes, ilmenitebracer, hunters_book, vigilant, whispering, everfull, mistjar, sensebacklash

Additionally, two new relics are available:
- procurement (a writ of requisition): When crafting, if you lack specific commodities but have the gold in your inventory, this writ automatically purchases the necessary materials from Esterport's market to complete the design instantly. Only works for items found in Esterport's NPC markets or crafting offices, and only if they're not already sold out.
- ambience (an ambience token): Lets you redeem for a line/emote that periodically fires around your character. Pieces trade in for 100 cr and are extremely rare.

You will also encounter racial relic coffers, which contain these new racial relics:
- spring_wings (verdant gossamer wings) - vernal flair, leaves lingering traces in spring
- summer_wings (blistering gossamer wings) - estival flair, leaves lingering traces in summer
- autumn_wings (russet gossamer wings) - autumnal flair, leaves lingering traces in autumn
- winter_wings (rimed gossamer wings) - wintry flair, leaves lingering traces in winter
- plowtusks (heavy plow tusks) - Gajatma tusks usable as hoe for Farming and shovel
- trunk (a leathery trunk) - Gajatma trunk that can be filled and used to spray targets and douse fires
- carrion_eye (a scavenger's glass eye) - Confers the Sanguis PERVADE ability
- lizardtongue (a long, flickering tongue) - Confers YANK ability and TONGUEGRAB

** Cracked scroll cases contain three random Compendium Pages from the existing selection.

*** Minipets available are: NEW! a brash pelican chick, NEW! a miniature buffalo, NEW! a clicking clockwork squirrel, a fuzzy camel calf, a playful snow leopard kitten, a bhfaol pup, a miniature hermit crab, a diminutive yellow-spotted lizard, a goggle-bearing hound, an armored viper, and a buzzing honey bee.

Some minipets have small interactions:
- The pelican and its chick can be fed fish, and will interact with each other.
- The buffalo has a response to being greeted and a small chance at reacting to someone entering the room.
- The squirrel has a response to being greeted and can be fed certain types of nuts.

**** Styles available are: elegant, stiff, gory, phasic, frosty, and leaping. There is also a chance of getting a style point in their place to spend at the styles shop!

All stockings will also award an org xp buff, and have some gold and a chance of bonus care package containing filler prizes such as obsidian inks, skullmasks, grimstim, yellow eyes, and so on. These don't count towards your value and are included as extras.

Credit and iron coin prizes scale with the tier of stocking, and the minimum credit value is the absolute minimum that the contents of a stocking will be worth. Each stocking can exceed this amount and will very often hold multiple prizes!

Each stocking tier below extravagant also has a very small chance of rolling a big prize in the form of a 400-2000 credit artifact!

Gold and Platinum stockings fill up on 25th December and 1st January respectively. These special stockings act as though you opened two from their equivalent tier, giving you double the prizes! 

Any Gold stockings not opened will convert to Platinum after Christmas Day. Do note that there is currently no difference in prizes between Gold and Platinum stockings - they are identical beyond what day they fill on!
