People of Aetolia! The Artisanal council of the Fellowship of Iosyne do
invite you all to share the power of your creativity and imagination
throughout the land! To honor and acclaim your wisdom and artistry, we
have decided to encourage the fine arts by holding monthly visual arts
contests. The winners of the competition will be ascribed rank within
the artisanal order of our Fellowship, as well as receiving a healthy
reward of the currency known as Credits.

RULES
-----

Contest entries must be original works of art which clearly portray an
Aetolian theme (as opposed to just general fantasy). One could paint
anything from portraits of Aetolian people or places to scenes from
Aetolian history, to illustrated maps. Credit is given for excellent
artistic quality and for the way in which the piece embraces and
enhances Aetolian culture. An accompanying written explanation of it may
be beneficial.

Please note that occasionally there will be a 'theme' for the contests
for that month only, which will be announced before the start of the
month. During that month, entries will be judged not only on quality,
but also how well they fit into the theme.

Contest entries should be submitted at
http://www.aetolia.com/irex/artbard/. Login at the bottom of the page
with your character's name and password. This character is assumed to
have created the work in-role. This character will be the one to receive
any forthcoming reward.

The contests will be held once a (real life) month. The closing date for
each contest will be midnight GMT on the last day of the month (judged
according to the time the work is received). Contest results will be
announced around a week after the closing date.

FORMATS
-------

In the case of the Artisan contests, entries may be submitted in GIF or
JPEG formats in the case of still images, or in animated GIF or Flash
formats in the case of moving images.

Submitting an entry asserts that you were the original creator of the
material and that there is no part of your submission that is
copyrighted to anyone else. If you submit material that you didn't
create yourself, you will be summarily shrubbed without warning.
ORIGINAL WORKS ONLY!

REWARDS
-------

There are 3 levels of success in the contest. One winner, up to three
creditable runners up, and any number of minor merit awards. A character
may only enter once per contest. Success in a contest brings with it the
following rewards:

Winner : 4 points and 200 credits
Runners up : 2 points and 100 credits
Merit : 1 point and 50 credits
Participation : 0 points and 15 credits

The winning entries will be displayed on the Aetolia website shortly
after the prizes have been allocated to the characters who won.

RANK
----

Each time you hit increments of 4 points in the Artisanal contest, you
will gain a new rank in that Order as well as some credits. That is in
addition to the credits you get for being the winner, runner-up, or
merit contestant (see above).

COPYRIGHT NOTICE
----------------

All submitted works become the sole property of Aetolia LLC, with all
copyright assigned to Aetolia LLC. The reason for this is that we wish
to be eternally free to display winning works on our website. If you
still have a problem with this, consider that the only works that will
win are ones that have something to do with Aetolia, and you couldn't
sell those anyway. We don't mind you also posting the art or stories on
your website however.
