9.9 Mercantile Skills

Mercantile skills are unique skillsets focused on the creation and sometimes customization of items essential to characters in Aetolia. Each character may possess up to one Mercantile skill to begin with, so choose wisely! It is important not to confuse Mercantile skills with Tradeskills, of which you can learn as much and as many as you please.

Syntax: MERCANTILE CHOICES
        MERCANTILE SELECT <skill>
        MERCANTILE EXPAND CAPACITY

If you wish to reselect a Mercantile skill, you will need to type FORGET <skill>. Doing so will prompt you if this is what you wish to do, and if you agree, you will receive 50% of your lessons back that you invested into the skill.

Every character only starts with one Mercantile skill slot, but it can be expanded one extra time. It costs 750,000 gold in order to pick up a second Mercantile skill. There is one rule however, you cannot learn both Herbalism and Apothecary.

HELP <skillname> - Obtain general information about a skill.
AB <skillname> - List of the abilities under a specific skill.
AB <skillname> <ability> - Specific information about an ability.

      Apothecary     The ability to produce elixirs and poultices.
      Enchantment    The creation and enchantment of magical items.
      Forging        The skill of creating weapons and armour.
      Herbalism      The skill to create pills from herbs.
      Toxicology     The ability to create and sell venoms.
