8.6.10 Templars

The Templars are the strong right arm of Enorian, the Hammer of Dawn made manifest in steel and oath. Where the Illuminai bolster faith and covenant, and the Ascendril scour the mysteries of the world through element and study, the Templars are the ones who step into the breach when the fabled Sunset bell rings.

First to the fray, last from the field.

Templars are knights, wardens, and executioners of the city's justice. They patrol the protectorates, hold lines during raids, and lead the push when Enorian must take the fight beyond its walls. Their purpose is simple: cull the wicked and shadow-tainted, deny the enemy momentum, and ensure the faithful endure. In every campaign, the same truth holds - repent or be put to the sword.

The Templar arts are threefold. Battlefury is the craft of war itself. It is tempo, position, and controlled violence - the disciplined mastery of weaponry. Righteousness is devotion and doctrine; a Templar raises auras of judgement and protection, shoring up allies or purifying their foes. Through Bladefire, a Templar binds holy force into steel, striking with radiance that punishes the profane.

Along with the Templar, the Vigil also serves as the base for the Akkari, ascended duamvi whose strength is drawn from Rewh'va, the Plane of Spirit. Crusaders of the Dauntless Host, united by their sacred cause, the Akkari are soldiers of the Light, embodying military discipline and unwavering devotion in their eternal war against the forces of Shadow. Their ways are taught and represented by the Grand Crusader and their High Commanders.

The Akkari arts are threefold. Ascendance is the raising of the faithful through Spirit, drawing on the power of Rewh'va and the Triad to grant the Host the endurance and might to stand where others break. Discipline is doctrine made practical, a regimen of prayer, sacraments, and zealous training that steels the will against Shadow and keeps the Host and their recruits unified in purpose. Through Dictum, the Akkari enacts condemnation, vocalizing holy judgment into being to purge heresy and break the resolve of those who would defy the Light.

If you swear yourself to the Templar, understand this - you are not joining for pageantry. You are joining to stand watch whilst others sleep, to strike when others falter, and to carry Enorian's promise into the places where the sun is thin.
