11.4.1 Varo, Keeper of the Close

Born of She Who Is Life and married in purpose and prosperity with All That Is Time is Varo, Shepherd of Souls, Arbiter of the End, Guardian of the Veil Unconquerable, God of Death.

Many are the saints and sinners, encased within their fragile mortal shells and set loose to live in vice and vigour, vagary and virtue, vitality and veneration. Death abjures them all and names them whimsy; for its claim is absolute, its provenance assured, its victory inescapable.

Only at the end is the heart of man made true; the lies of hope and salvation unveiled; the futile marathon concluded. And the fuller the life, the greater the fall.

And thus does the scythe of inevitability fall heavy, its burden felt 'cross time's relentless escalation, its inexorable swing reaping life as but mere chaff felled from a fertile field.

Indifferent to the games of politics and intrigue indulged by the lesser sires of the Crown Pantheon, Varo abides with the confident certainty of One requiring neither art nor artifice to advance Their will: for all who live must die, and He is all that awaits at the end.
