13.21 Fleeing Combat

When an adventurer engages you with an aggressive attack of some kind, the game will keep track of this briefly and consider that person as hostile towards you.

Should you then leave the location with this person in it, the game will consider this as fleeing combat and impose some penalties upon you.

As such, when you are fleeing, the following will happen:
 - Leaving a location with that hostile person in it will...
   * Flag you as 'fleeing' for roughly 15 seconds.
   * Require and cost 50 endurance and willpower.
   * Consume all your celerity points immediately.
 - All movement costs 5 endurance and willpower otherwise while flagged.

Additionally, some skills will gain bonus effects or a malus to its effectiveness if you are considered fleeing, e.g. a skill with a stun lasting for longer upon you. Such details are often written into ability help files and are left for you to discover.

Lastly, this is not applied in denizen combat. Only when you are engaged in hostility with another adventurer.

Make sure to keep these penalties in mind when escaping from combat!
