PVP training dummies

Hi folks,

As part of a recent game engine update, we have the ability now to introduce a much-requested feature: PVP training dummies!

These are special target dummies that you can create a simulated player opponent from to test your PVP abilities on. There’s a wide range of things you can configure, including class, firstaid settings, and optional reporting of afflictions/damage, making it a great tool for testing out offensive strategies without needing to ask a sparring partner to AFK for you.

If you set it to the Templar or Revenant class, you can even make it fight you and it’ll attempt to do a basic retribution/cull route against you.

One thing to note is the DUMMY FORCE command. This forces the dummy to do something, but it is still subject to usual force checks. If you can’t make someone do something through the PERFORM FORCE skill for example, the dummy force command will also not work. When you use the dummy force command, whatever 1P messages the dummy sees will also be outputted to you, making it a great tool for testing how things work in other classes. This force command is largely intended to let you test class abilities (though other things will work), and you should report anything you can force the dummy to do that you think shouldn’t be intended.

Currently, this is only available in Sect of Blade’s Hall at v84268. We know many of you will be requesting to get one added elsewhere, but for now, this will be the only copy available until further notice as we want to ensure we get any potential issues worked out.

Consider this an early beta release and treat it accordingly!
