Your facts continue to confuse me. Your wife is too young to remember
that Caboose has raided Spinesreach in the past, that he's killed the
Syssin you claim are helping him, that he's held Spireans hostage. His
presence is tolerated out of respect for his elected station and because
he's turned his back on Chakrasul. You said that someone had tried to do
this three times to you before, yet you did nothing about that and fell
for it on the fourth attempt. Incompetence is an interesting, if humble,
defense. I am sure your tests clear all this up, though. It is quite the
fortuitous coincidence that your ally switched sides when he did so that
you could perform these tests. Knowing the abilities of Syssin as I do,
I imagine these tests will only convince the people who already believe
you and leave the skeptical unchanged.
You do eventually get down to things, though. You are looking for
reasons to brand people enemies, people like Rawyn, because you consider
them risks and they scare you. Fair enough, it is your prerogative. It
is worth nothing, however, that if any of the people you've branded
enemies are dangerous to you, it is because of your own actions in
raiding Spinesreach, in raiding one of its villages, in killing its
citizens because of their citizenship, and because of your support, both
ideological and material, of those who also act in this way. Neither the
Syssin nor Spinesreach have had an issue with Duiran as a whole, try as
you might to make it one by using your rank and by trying to organize
parties of people to hunt Syssin over this when they wouldn't help you
before.
