The Discharge of House Ve'kahi from Bloodloch

Written by: Izel Bouchard, Xin'ba of Ve'kahi

Addressed to: Everyone

Several months ago, the members of House Ve'kahi who possessed
citizenship with the city of Bloodloch were evicted from that home by
order of the Keeper, Azrael. An explanation offered to the city after
the fact named two reasons for this expulsion: one, House Ve'kahi calls
itself a "nation," when only cities should hold this title; and two,
that it is disrespectful of Lord Dhaivol to make mention of the Morgun
within our scrolls.

What we have here, it seems, is a simple misunderstanding of
terminology. Ve'kahi is a nation in that there are several bodies
existing within it, called tribes. Smaller Houses joining us in their
entirely have to wished to maintain the integrity of their name, and
this structure allows them to do so. The function of a nation-state is
independent of that of the city-state, and the former does not seek to
replace the latter.

As for the second allegation, it must be understood that House Ve'kahi
is no more intimate with the Morgun Forest than Bahir'an before it,
except in that we intend to better determine how this land may be of
service. If this is blasphemy, so too, then, is consuming the earth's
growth to heal oneself, as many, if not all, the citizens of Bloodloch
have done.

It should also be noted that House Ve'kahi shares the same Patron as the
city of Bloodloch. Lord Dhaivol has been most supportive of us since our
inception, and one would think that had He found disrespect within our
structure, our words, or our teachings, as Azrael implies, He would have
made it known.

There remains, it seems, no further reason for Ve'kahi's exile. Speaking
both as my House's Minister of State and as a former citizen of
Bloodloch, it is my hope that this matter be rectified with the haste
and the care it deserves.
