A Plea to the Counsel of Light

As most all of you know, Ashtan has changed. Lord Rahn is now the Patron
of the Free City. The butchery has ended in the Loving Heart's Orphanage
is over. Those who knew me in my youth might have heard my frequent
rants against the last war. And although I will defend Ashtan with my
life as I have sworn, I now know that the war was completely justified
by these two changes. As a proud citizen who has hope in his city, I
seek stability in these changes.
Our city is free. Free to turn it's head to the slaughter of young
children while punishing those who murder them in plain sight. That is
what an Ashtan dominated by necromantic citizens choose to do. And while
it would seem to some that those days are over, remeber this. There is a
natural process to any democracy. The greatest will in a voting
population wins.
I make this plea to the Counsel of Light and to Lord Rahn. It is that
Daru and Luminaries be permitted to be citizens of Ashtan. It is the
darkest corner that is in most need of Rahn's Light. I know your
hesitance. I know that Luminaries are forbidden to associate with most
of the current Ashtanites, and this is reasonable, lest they are tainted
with corruption.
Laws change. Constitutions change. But only if there are people in a
given government who desire such change. And such change will only come
about through exertion of the strongest will.
The dawn is coming,
Hail Lord Rahn
Penned by my hand on the 8th of Severin, in the year 136 MA.
