Drivel

I, by no means, speak for the Creator. However, I think your perception
of the world needs a little correction. You apparently view each and
every person as approximately the same, each and every class, including
classLESS to be the same.

First and foremost, a knight who from a young age begins to train him or
herself with heavy weapons, building physical strength is much more
likely to be able to sustain the weight of heavy armor. A monk, who
fights with speed and precision would be restricted by armor, even
leather armor, and therefore they wear light clothing instead of armor,
honing their bodies to absorb more damage without added, cumbersome
layers.

Your talk of skills and guilds and other such blathering nonsense is
idiotic, and that's putting it nicely. A person who has not bothered to
hone any part of him or herself, to train under the guidance of masters
of any particular profession will find that he not only can't support
the weight of the armor, but can't even figure out which buckle connects
to which strap.

Now, onto knowledge. Any one person only really has the capability to
retain so much information at any one time. It is, then, the place of a
guild or guilds to determine for its members what is and is not taught
to its students. This knowledge is never shared to people outside a
guild, whether it be the secretive Indorani or the less than secretive
Magi. Because Epicurus and Averroes have a respect for all walks of
life, as true, unbiased scholars do, they only teach where it is
appropriate.

Perhaps they could be 'tricked' into teaching you, if you could somehow
convince Certimene to send Epicurus or Averroes a letter stating he has
inducted you into a certain guild, and you could go quick beg for a few
sessions before that guild finds out and lobs your head off. But I'm
guessing Certimene would remain pretty reticent on the matter, and
glibly tell you to ask him to join a guild if you want it that badly.

I hope this helps your understanding, misguided one.
