Good and Evil

We have enlightened cows and wise women living on fences...maybe it is a
cow fence who knows. Maybe the woman got wise by eating the enlightened
cow?? Anyway, what I want to say deals with this world and this
reality..not wise cows or enlightened women...or was it the other way
around? It is really no wonder that so many who are quite sympathetic to
evil are so ready to cry neutral. They have nothing to gain by being
called evil, and a lot to lose. They lose the support of those
sympathetic to good. Now by claiming neutrality they can maintain the
support of the "good" by twisting reality to meet thier specifications
for neutral. We can say silly things like ...so far a goddess has been
acting in support of evil but it is only because good did not give her a
chance.... Well excuse me but since when does someone need to give you a
chance to perform a good deed? And since when does a soul equally
blessed with goodness as with evil allow itself to work primarily for
one or the other? I ask, on top of all that, why all these "neutral"
individuals scramble so hard for the approval of "good" or why "evil"
individuals labor so hard in words to prove the neutrality of others?
Good people support "GOOD" because it is the right thing to do. Evil
people support whatever they feel the urge to at the moment because they
gain something from it. There is nothing saying that evil can not do
good...if it gets them something. There is however a basic rule that
says good people should/can not do evil without tainting themselves.
Regardless of the gains for themselves or thier friends, good people can
not sell out and rely on evil actions. Some call this intollerant,
others biased or elitest...Perhaps they are right and we should all be
happy to live together, holding hands and singing carolls and ignoring
what people do so we don't seem judgemental. Of course that has
absolutely nothing to do with supporting good or right and is personally
not the way I am going to live my life. I don't ask occultists to offer
to Rahn, I dont write long posts explaining why people should not use
necromancy or drink blood and how it is ruining the world and bringing
an end to us all...and yet time and again people feel they have the
right to come to me and try to dictate MY perception of good and evil
and tell me what I can and can not accept as good and right. If Shallam,
as a city, decides that Niuri is an unfit patron for one of her guilds
and then Shallam, as a city decides to give the Sentaari the chance to
change or leave... where exactly do the Indorani, or anyone outside of
shallam for that matter, get the impression that they have a say in it?
If anything the constant argument for her neutrality supports the fact
that she is unfit. Noone has EVER argued she is "good" or above neutral
in any way...and yet a large group of individuals feel she is evil.
Perceptions, while sometimes skewed...say a lot about people. If she
gives the impression of evil to a large group of people there must
surely be a reason for it. I personally do not see the glory in
neutrality...what exactly is so enticing about saying you stand for
nothing and have no opinion or conviction as to the state of the world?
I for one feel that neutrality is a disease that infests most of the
world...those too lazy to actualy decide where they stand or sly enough
not to tip thier hand and lose support from those on the other side of
the "fence". But those are personal opinions, and while they are mine
they may not be shallams...though as a CITIZEN of Shallam I at least
have a right to express them on matters that affect Shallam and her
laws...something you should refrain from if you can't be bothered to
become a citizen and defend her as loudly and diligently as you
criticize her. To those of you who have cast of neutrality and stand
firm in your beliefs...I salute you and/or despise you for them...as is
appropriate. For the rest of you who want to ignore the fact that good
and evil exist...I hope you become as invisible as your ideals are.
There are neutrals who stand for something..the forestfolk are an
example (not that they are all neutral). This does not mean that
neutrality itself is a cause worth fighting for...think about it.
