A wise woman lived in a simple tent on a grassy field between two
villages. The two villages were not at peace. One day the villagers
built a long fence between their two villages. Part of the fence that
they built went right through the center of her tent, though the
builders did not ask her.

Is the wise woman on one side of the fence, or the other? Does she sit
on the fence? Or is it truer to say that the fence is sitting under her?
