8.6.11 Imperial Dominion
In the 446th year of the Midnight Age, the Imperial Dominion arose as both name and mandate, marking a new era of Consanguine self-rule. With the Progenitor of the Blood relinquishing all claim over the Imperial Dominion, the Consanguine of Sapience stood unified beneath a single banner, freed to govern according to their own ancient imperatives. Though their lineage stretches back to the primordial rite of Queen Belladona - then named Yrtez - and the dark intercession of the Dark Mother and the Manipulator, it was under the iron dominion of the first Primus, Abhorash Nehekhara, that the Bloodline was first ordered. From his Childer arose the five Houses: Nebre'seir, Voltaire, Bahir'an, D'baen, and Bouchard. Their legacy endures as the Dominion's oldest foundation, a testament to the truth that a Consanguine's limits lie only in what they refuse to pursue.
The Dominion as it exists today is led by the Primus, chosen by the voices of the Blood and invested with authority through the evocation of the four facets of the Court, an arrangement unprecedented in Consanguine history. Beneath this structure, the old Houses have given way to a broader unity, their bloodlines subsumed in reverence of the first and eldest order. As former customs erode like bone beneath desert sands, new doctrines arise, demanding strength, discipline, and absolute purpose. Within the Imperial Dominion, weakness is neither sheltered nor forgiven, and folly earns only extinction.
Alongside the Consanguine move two distinct yet intertwined forces. The Bloodborn serve as the Dominion's sorcerous vanguard, practitioners of blood magic and humourist arcana who refine the gift of the Blood into instruments of domination, warfare, and unholy transformation. By contrast, the Praenomen stand as exemplars and enforcers of the Dominion's will, embodiments of its martial and ideological supremacy, tasked with maintaining cohesion and extending its reach. Together, they emerge from the benighted halls of Bloodloch beneath midnight banners, spreading the gift of Night Unending by allure and by force, ensnaring innocent and guilty alike to serve as prey, instrument, or heir to the Blood.
