13.8.1 Bruising

Bruising is much alike the trauma system, but has a slightly different mechanics between the two. It often acts as a gateway towards utilising more stronger abilities that rely upon it, while its symptomatic effects are rather weak.

Unlike trauma, bruising is usually applied instantly like a normal affliction, however in some cases it may take a number of hits before a bruise will form.

Bruising can be applied to all bodyparts, which are the head, torso, left arm, right arm, left leg, and right leg. There is no variance in its symptoms between each limb.

BRUISING LEVELS
---------------
Light The first level of bruising, e.g. left leg bruised.
Moderate The second level of bruising, e.g. left leg bruised moderate.
Critical The third level of bruising, e.g. left leg bruised critical.

You must go through each level before you can receive the next, and the same is for curing, you must cure the highest level first before the levels below it.

SYMPTOMS
--------
All bruising will cause you to slightly bleed, with higher levels causing more bleeding, but it is mostly small amounts. Use AFFLICTION LIST BRUISE to see all the bruising afflictions, then AFFLICTION <name> for more details.

CURING YOUR BRUISES
-------------------
Bruising cannot be cured at all by random curing. The only way to cure it is through the application of the mending salve.

You won't be able to cure bruising if one of your limbs becomes broken until you heal that broken limb first. The only exception to this is critical level bruising, you can always apply mending to cure the highest level.
