Language Policy
Hello everyone,
Over the past year, we’ve seen an influx of utilizing words from real-life languages other than the primary language used to engage in Aetolia – english. While we appreciate that english in general has borrowed words from other languages during its existence and growth, what we’re speaking of here are direct, non-translated words from other languages plopped straight into the game in either designs, written speech or emotes in public, in events, and similar places.
We welcome everyone, from all walks of life, but very simply ask that you help us make Aetolia the best and most consistent it can be by keeping all in character communication, items, posts, emotes, etc, to the official language supported by the game. This ensures that the only time you’ll need a translator is when Emellan has decided to bust out his ten sovereign words!
Of course, this does not apply to private clans or webs where all participants may be speaking otherwise in an out of character fashion. It also does not apply to any of the in game languages that have written versions, such as Kalsu or Esmari.
Thank you!
