The Ascendril's Dawn

After several decades, the leylines beneath the Ascendril guildhall gave way to the flow of magic that was channeled above them and exploded in a dazzling display of unbridled energy. As the Ascendril leadership drew towards the smoldering ruins of the guildhall, they found themselves staring into a vortex of elemental power that churned endlessly. Eld drift through the vortex now, steadily drawing power from the collapsed leyline and growing ever in number.

The Abyss of Tiyen Esityi

Wardrums echoed from the depths of the Vashnar mountains as the Nazetu of Tiyen Esityi emerged once more into the world. With a maddened horde, they descended upon Bloodloch, declaring that war had come to the city at last and that their spurning of the Nazetu had was a mistake not to be forgotten. The whispers of chaos and corruption poison even the strongest of minds--for now a shadowy figure known as the Overlord Vostarin stands behind the horde of Nazetu and something malevolent dwells deep beneath the mountain fortress.

A Haunted House

As night descended upon Sapience, the stars littered the skies, the glittering specks of light shifting to align itself perfectly with each other. When midnight approached, the sky lit up with flashes of lightning. Witches never before seen flew past the moon, their spectral figures making for the Mannaseh Swamp as their cackles resounded across Sapience. With a groan and noisy creakings, the Haunted House materialized into being, opening its doors to mortals and undead alike who seek to have the fright of their lives!

Two new areas!

Two new areas were revealed in Aetolia today! An invasion of prototype phase hounds led to the discovery of the Halls of Tornos, an ancient Ankyrean research facility located beneath the Southern Tundra. Later, an earthquake rocked the Siroccian mountains, revealing the Nal'jin Depths deep within the tunnels.

Knights of a New Dusk

The balance of the realm was shaken by the assumption of new powers by the Paladin and Infernal guilds. The Paladins have taken on the mantle of the Templars as bestowed by the proto-angelic Duamvi, while the Infernals exchange their falcons for warhounds and necromantic arts for the true lore of Death, as they embrace the path of the Carnifex!

Damariel, the Unbound

Truth found form in Sapience once again as Damariel, the Unbound emerged as the new Lord of Truth. Following an attack by the Artificer on the Hunter and the Lady of Fire, the once-trapped essences of Lord Lanos and Arion combined in the body of Danerran, a refugee from Albedos. While Sapience mourns the passing of the God of Valour, all eyes are set on the new Truthlord, no doubt waiting to see what He has in store.

The Sky-Darkener's Fall

Alshek, the Sky-Darkener arose in the depths of the Great Oak in the early days of Khepary, 337 MA. Alshek, a corrupted spirit guardian, had spent near ten years seeking a way to destroy Duiran's connection to Dendara. In a heated battle, the whole of Duiran bore their might against Alshek's corrupted brood and a durdalis known as Govon impaled the beast to the Great Oak in a feat of great strength. Dendara yet roils with corruption and Duiran must be ever prepared.

The Alaqsii Inlet!

In the early morning of late Haernos, Elder Naartok of the Indyuk tribe within Nuunva presided over the tremendous dig that had begun in months past. In a roar of sound, the tribesmen and women were buried in a catastrophic avalanche as they dug far too deep into the mountainous crevasse in their attempt to find passage into the Alaqsii Inlet. As snow and rock filled the tunnel, Elder Naartok rushed to send forth news of his plight and much of Sapience hastened forth to aid the tribe as they did in past years.

Arrival of the Grecht

With the help of Nantafiria and others, a population of Grecht from the Dehkay Plateau have begun to populate the Siroccian mountain range. Their people have been notified and have begun to migrate to the land below. The Grecht are now a Player Race!

A mysterious tomb and a Gorgon

Following a clue that led to the cure to the deadly Aalen Blooms, the inhabitants of Sapience managed to uncover a mysterious tomb that laid beneath the sands near Akhenades, once the temple grounds of the Goddess Niuri. Delighted in the discovery, the sickened Aetolians were met with a setback - a fearsome creature in the appearance of a serpentine Gorgon emerged to defend the sacred tomb. Caught unaware, they fell to the petrifying gaze of the Gorgon, their statues serving as reminders of the creature's power.

The Aalen Blooms

A red plume arose over the Aalen Forest, spreading out a choking spore cloud across the twisted wood. The people of Duiran hastened to hew the stalks that appeared from the ground, but found too late that the flowers released the disease that the Albedi had warned them would follow the sludge. It is yet unknown as to what these spores will do, but for now, they are seemingly a hazard to all who enter the Aalen.

The Aalen Burns

The once lush Aalen has long been witness to a virulent disease that came in the form of a horrific purple sludge. Mass mutations and sickness spread throughout the wildlife unchecked until Haern, the Hunter rose to ward the corruption from advancing further into His realm. Cleansing fires from the Dendaric plane spilt forth to purge the forest of all impurities by the hand of the Hunter, scorching the earth and ancient trees. The sludge now a mere cobweb upon the earth, the people of Duiran remain vigilant.

Golbans, Ore, and Marriage?

Earlier this month members of Spinesreach were paid a visit by none other than Tuiln, leader of the Ashanti Resistance now stationed in the Port City of Delve. Tuiln had been contracted to reach out to his allies in an attempt to help Delve open up trade negotiations with a recently rediscovered settlement upon Mount Helba. The Helbans, a group of Golban miners, were unconvinced at the safety that Delve could provide their people. Villi Selannor, Nahasa Ryokus, and Kerryn and Sryaen Cardinalis set off for Albedos, to try and work their diplomatic skills on the settlers.

Geas of the Emperor

The Emperor of the Consanguine, Abhorash, returned briefly today, casting a curse upon his own bloodline which sapped at the strength and reserves of all those Consanguine unbound within his line of progeny.

Attack of the Hobgobblers!

Egads! The goblin scientist Doktor Leudig, attempting to help feed the vast goblin armies of Azdun, has bred a wild, mutant variety of the common turkey, but they've managed to escape their cages! Find and kill the mutant hobgobblers, and bring them back to Leudig for a reward! They're also worth a huge amount of points in the Great Hunt!

The Nightmare stirs

Strange visions began to spread among the faithful of the Nightmare. At first, most thought them to be the effect of the pall that had spread throughout the land. But, it was soon made clear as they felt tugged toward the Unfettered Nightmare's glade that She was once more present and quite awake. Anxious to speak with those who headed Her call, the Nightmare eludes to visions for the future and sets the first small steps toward insight into motion. What will become of these actions, shall it be of the Dreamer or the Nightmare? Only time will tell.

Usurper of the Underhalls!

It has been a few tense months, where it was found that Dhar, the Underking has left His trusted follower, Edhain de Verdigris, and Jirair in charge of the Soul Plane. Unfortunately, while the God has been gone, a powerful spirit by the name of Verkai broke free from his place within the Abyss to claim ownership of the Soul Plane, eliminating Jirair and the pesky Judges along the way. Unable to be stopped by anyone - he has begun to merge his new domain with the Prime! In this dark moment for Sapience, who would be able to stop him before it is too late?

The Haunted House!

Arising from the Mannaseh Swamp is the Haunted House, here to inflict its presence upon Sapience once more! With a soul as the door guard and a harbinger to future unpleasant beginnings, who knows what horrors will you further find within?

Shadowy proceedings

After a long wait for Nevithor, the Sciomancers' tutor, to re-establish contact with the Guild, strong tugs from their elemental channels called the Shadow Mages to their damaged Master Crystal. What seemed to be a cause for celebration - for the Master Crystal has healed its crack - turned into a cause for concern, as the mass of swirling darkness within the Crystal Garden began to churn and expand its presence around the Guildhall. Deep within the core of the darkness danced insubstantial figments, where a soft feminine laughter echoed.

Dwarves and the Dramedo Crags!

Fickle Pickleton, a Torston Dwarf hired by his Tainhelm brothers to procure mining rights from the Free City of Delve stumbled into Enorian filled with despair. He relayed to Edhain, Vanguard of the Beacon, a tale laced with woe. His brother and other members of their party were trapped on the continent of Albedos in a place known as the Dramedo Crags. Not only trapped, but set upon by forces of the Drakkenmont Empire. This was all the Vanguard needed to hear as he quickly assembled a coalition of forces to travel to the continent across the sea.

Sentinels Renewed

Though the spirit animals of Dendara that long served them fled through the Great Oak to return to their ethereal masters, the Sentinels were aided by the ancient spirits of their warrior ancestors, who bestowed upon them the knowledge of the ancient art of Dhuriv!
