Ashtan.

There's a reason why Ashtan has managed to drive away every single guild
it once had. The Ohmsfords only want more population now so that they
can expand their military, previously they were ecstatic to remove as
many people as possible save for their close friends because it meant
less potential votes for people other than them. Now it all has come
back to haunt Ashtan, and I for one say good. Ashtan is not the city of
the free, it is the city of fools and hypocrisy.
At least Shallam stands for something. Ashtan stands for nothing more
than the profit of those who didn't have the self respect to leave it or
get kicked out trying to make it change. What else would it stand for,
since every other organization which stood for something that doesn't
start with an 'O' is gone.
To recap on the various replies people made about this-
Alaron, wouldn't you have to be good at something to prevent Ashtan from
crumbling. As for telling people to mind their own buisness, you make it
public buisness when you to take it to the public boards.
Melody, the same goes to you, and your capitalized argument about how
people should be 'APART' of Ashtan before criticizing it is pretty
ironic when you're writing about a city that is notorious for kicking
out everything which can be kicked.
Brooke, much as I like you, the fact that you're actually counting your
citizens list and making these posts says it all. If anyone is petty, it
is you people attempting to be so opportunistic about Shallam's internal
workings.
Ashtan has worked long and hard to get where they are today. In closing,
I say... congratulations. This state was surely their dream, before they
realized that there is a world outside their walls.
P.S. Why would a city of the free conquer Thera?
- Because they're HYPOCRITES.
