Why not, everyone else has...

If a dog has four legs, and a table has four legs, then a table, like a
dog, must wag its tail and pee on trees.

If Spirokai, in his infinate mundanity, wishes to free the world from
the Duiran Council, and Haern's influence (which itself, as I understand
the political movements of that organization, is a gross approximation)
, why does he go on to destroy that very thing which is central to their
"hold on Aetolia"?

The central idea of freedom is access to that which is unavailable,
therefore, he acts to deny others access to something that he feels
should be free?

Does not make sense to me. So, excuse the ponderings of myself as I
express this verbosely.

Arguement as I understand it:
I (we) want to inhabit this island, leave me (us) alone. If you do not,
I (we) will detonate (use) a device (a necromancy ability) to reduce
your ability to refuse my (our) jurisdiction of this island.

This "device/ability" reduces the yield that our concoctionists can
provide under optimum conditions (ie. individuals sucking the lifebaring
force out of an area).
From what /I/ recall, and since such records were not recorded well, it
is difficult to check verasity, Spirokai was initially enemied to Duiran
for killing druids and sentinels going about their normal harvesting
tasks. His response was to exterminate those locations so that the
defenses would no longer work against him, and allow him to target
certain individuals for gain in the Circles of Experiance, and to
increase his diminishing cycle of necrotic energy. That is probably half
the story, and I am interested in responses regarding such, as long as
they are fact-correcting, not propagandized, and appropriate to the
premise of this post.

If this assessment is correct, then it seems that Spirokai then
underwent a "fall back" defensive posture. He holed up in Ulangi, to use
the vulger argot.

Ulangi has several defensive qualities that most would normally
overlook. It has one way in, and that same way is the only known way
out. Only by being there do many guild abilities work against those on
that island. Without a difficult scouting system, involving messages,
there is no way to know what forces might be available at any particular
time.

With that stuff out of the way, the understanding of what I understand
as facts, and the logical assumptions that result, I am still a bit
stymied at a few aspects of Spirokai's logic.

Kill me, threaten me, or kill or threaten my kind, and I'll exterminate
your forests.
This seems to be a presiding theme in Spirokai's psuedo-logical rants.

Having fought Spirokai on a few occasions, and died to him, the threat
of loss of herbs is secondary if not inconsequential to him. He has the
Fool Tarot and uses it to good effect, leaving you to deal with his
targeted entities while he leaves the room and fixes what you did to
him.

It is not always effective, as I have personally noted his appearance on
deathsight a few times, but it is a thing to keep in mind. Under this
thought pattern, it is understandable /why/ he would be willing to do
what he does. He doesn't need /herbs/, he can fix afflictions without
them.

I have spoken to several scholars that study the nature of Aetolian
magic, and have arrived at the concept that this is a balancing aspect
of the Occultist skillset. With an ability like exterminate, it would
require an ability to do without herbs. Fool in Tarot appears to be that
ability.

What we are left with are certain purported aspects of Spirokai's
"logic" that fail to hold forth what he is professing, which itself is
somewhat vague.

If he wishes to be left alone, then why go to Ulangi? Other than the
defensive aspects, which are obviously of martial interest, it has
nothing for him other than a method of controversy. Last I checked, he's
Human, so no Horkval or Grook connections.

The only answer that fits is the necromancy benefits when it is
rejuvenated, so he basicly wants the opposition to rejuvenate so that he
has a continued supply of essence and the only way to do this is by
making others on the whole rather antagonistic to his goals, and the
very /best/ way to do that is to kill others.

It seems to me, logically, that what is going on is a matter where
Spirokai et al. (ie. the RL) want to kill people, and gain power from
it. They appear to be doing everything in thier power to promote such.
Spirokai, contrary to popular opinion, is not an idiot. Or, granted,
perhaps his benefactor is not an idiot. Either way, his apparent
resolutions are far from idiotic, and the mass of the populace appear to
be playing directly into a canyon of death. Everything leads to an
eruption of warfare. Spirokai would not be disappointed, therefore the
question I really ask myself is if this resolution would be aided by
pre-emtive strikes against his holdings?

It is a viable question, and limited only by an agreement that such
actions, taken by Spirokai, are antithesis to our communal well being.
