Culling and formation of Fire Breaks

Recently there has been many rumours flung about on the intention
of the Lord of Hunt in regards to the forest, statements that Lord Haern
wish for the forest to be burned away and destroyed are false and ill
informed. The truth is that
recently under the express guidance of His divine will, I formed a fire
break in Western Ithmia
This is only the first of the fire breaks, more will appear in time. Now
I do know
many of you have neither read the tomes of the Rhythm, so I will explain
why this action has been done. Culling of the forest is not an attack on
nature
nor is it an attempt to destroy the forest, culling is done as part of
the way
of destruction, which states in its first line, out of the ashes of the
old the new is reborn
and from the dead the young is nurtured. Now that applies to general
culling, which
is carried out in selected area and not in adjacent locations. In terms
of Fire breaks, that is the removal
of plant life in a line. This is done simply because abundance of plants
on
the forest floor represent fuel for forest fires. Random lightning
strikes and careless uses
of fire can begin a wild forest fire, if all the land is left fully
planted, the
fire would spread rapidly and consume and destroy more plant life. As is
now, we have sacrificed
freeze few plants for the greater good of the forest, we have eliminated
abundant fuel on the forest floor, reducing
greatly the chance of a wild fire occuring, and we have created breaks
for is
that did occur, it could be slowed and fought before massive damage is
done. This action was done
in a responsible way, it took into consideration of the druids groves.
Yes
I admit at the beginning my original plan for the break took me into a
guild and I made a mistake, but
I did notice that mistake and shift the fire break accordingly, now the
break snakes from the road and the lake, to
the road and the river, it avoids druids groves. On a final note I
believe the
fire break consists of 8 forest locations culled out
The removal of plant life from 8 locations to protect hundreds upon
hundreds of location I would argue
is a good and fair trade off. I will reiterate in closing now
the recent action is NOT an ATTACK on the forest, it is measures taken
to defend the forest as STATED by the
laws and Ways of Haern, Lord of the Hunt
