It's come to my attention that there is a referendum currently running
in Ashtan that contains some language which needs clarification. First,
there has been no 'official request' on behalf of Duiran to kick
Spirokai out of Ashtan. While this may or may not be a good idea, it did
NOT come from the majority of Benedanti, which would make it official.

Secondly, there also has been no serious consideration given to any sort
of herb ban on Ashtan, should that city not throw out Spirokai. To imply
this is, in my 'official' view, inflammatory. Duiran members may talk
amongst themselves of their wishes etc., but to relay that sentiment as
a potential hammer to be wielded over Ashtan was inappropriate and
uninformed.

We have every respect for Ashtan, its citizens and rulers who have a
hard and frequently thankless job to do. We must, however, keep our
official channels of communication clear and not operate on supposition
or partial information.
