I recently attended a conference in the ruins of Hashan. In attendance
were Lucky, a small time thug from Shallam, and Bruno, a thug from the
Ashtan sewers. This meeting raised concern over the way that their
living area was being used as a hunting ground by both the young and
strong members of this land. I took dutiful notes at the meeting, and
agreed to post their concerns here, so as to end their oppression.

Concern Number 1-- The depletion of their natural resources. Many people
apparently think they are doing favours for the Ratman and for Hakhim by
ridding the sewers of rats, but in fact, it is contributing to the
oppression of the significant thug population. These rats are the source
of food for the poor denizens. Anyone who has partaken in the delicacy
of rat-legs can attest to what a little bit of garlic and butter can do
to these so-called varmints. The thugs raise them for nourishment. Other
thugs raise rats as their pets. Who among us would not be upset to see
our loved pets slaughtered needlessly on a daily basis? Finally, the
thugs stated that they use the rats in their trade (providing the
"mutton" to Rurin, binding for arrow-fletching). The brutal murder of
the rats has endangered their way of life.

Concern Number 2-- This concern was even more shocking, and quite
frankly, disturbing to me. They reported that many of their number have
been randomly and needlessly attacked. This is a trend that has occured
through many generations of thugs. I asked the thugs about the rumours
of their alleged aggressive nature. Bruno told me, and I quote- "It
wasn't always that way. But after decades of stepping on thrown out
pieces of myrrh gum- do you know how hard that is to get from the bottom
of your shoes?- Enough is enough. And now, kids these days!! In the
sewers, singing loudly. Their swords in the air....waving them around
like they just don't care.. Oi. And don't get me started on the falcon
droppings!!" It is obvious that the lack of respect shown to the
sewer-dwelling population has been tolerated for too long. They asked
for change, and I have answered their requests to intervent.

Let it be known that anyone found or reported slaughtering anything
(thugs or rats) in the sewers shall have to deal with the full wrath of
my bad breath. Repeated offenses may lead to being forced to listen to
me sing. In addition to these sanctions, a fine shall be
imposed...payable to me. If the fine is not paid, well, no big deal. I
was just hoping to make a little money on the side. I mean, I gotta pay
for this post somehow.
