My dear mislead enemy,
I am greatly frustrated that I must air out my business in this medium,
but your egotistical and childish actions have unfortunately forced my
hand.
Yes, you ascended to Yeleni, we were all proud of you. We may even be
impressed by such steadfast dedication and unrelenting desire. It would
be a noble accomplishment, to be revered and spoken about for ages, if
it weren't desecrated in the hands of a disreputable vagrant. While you
basked in the light of your own edification, the rest of us noticed the
glaring shadow cast upon the world by your success. There were those of
us that realized the cost of your ascendance, most of which was brutal
cast upon the flesh of your fallen allies, who died to ensure that you
might draw breath a little longer.
By your own words, you are not a being of honor. When we first met upon
the field of battle, you fought valiantly; you seized your five-to-one
odds and held on like a ravenous beast. When the ebb and flow of battle
evened the odds to a mere three-to-one and the fury of the battle was
upon your flesh and not your allies, nothing stopped you from leaving a
smoldering swath from north of trees to the gates of Enorian. Despite my
initial evaluation of your behavior, I met Lord Kylan, and hoped that
some of his wisdom and temperament may have worn off on you. Alas, I was
sadly mistaken. You saw fit to form a group of like-minded zealots to
slay your enemy "at all costs." You chose not to meet us honorably upon
the field, man to man, you chose to seek us out in odds exceedingly the
initial five-to-one at the crossroads. After many of us eluded your
barroom tactics, you decided to try to use the Code against me and mine,
challenging us to 'duels of honor' at the Crossroads. In your ignorance,
you saw fit to claim "I am not a man of honor" followed by "I challenge
you to an honorable duel." Knave, you cannot have it both ways, honor is
an absolute. It is either their or it is not, you cannot As I bear no
respect for that shell of a being you called a person, I declined
indefinitely. Your last words were that you would seek me out and those
I befriend and kill me until I ceased to exist. This alone will ensure
that you shall never feel the grace of my honor and respect for the rest
of your days. Knights do not seek duels with the beasts of the land,
they are hunted en masse and put down for the sake of those around them.
And for the record, you've run me when we fought toe to toe, you and
yours have run from my allies and I when the odds were even. Never have
you walked free from an engagement of equal strength as the light of the
flame cannot withstand the tide of darkness from behind the grave.
Sir Nahual Innarian.
P.S. Lastly, I define 'equal' in manner more strict than your own. To me
and mine, equal would be I bring myself and a second and you bring
yourself and a second, this is equal. I can see how this is at odds with
how you determine equality; two for me, one for you. Oddly enough, this
is how I believe you obtained your opulent status as Yeleni.
