Beloved city:
I part from you today to journey to the northern tundra and teach at the
institute. I will be studying with the Cabalist in efforts to learn what
knowledge they are able to impart to me about the composition and
transfer of essence. At the institute I hope to share my knowledge with
those of the city to gain a more established understanding for death's
mystery--a phenomena that many mortals consider undesirable than to the
fertility of life.

It is of necessity that I leave the city and call the city of spires my
new home. This is required of me so that I can remain in close contact
with the scholars of Spinesreach whom I will be studying with over the
next several years. I trust that I will discover a great deal of
knowledge while pursuing my studies in Spinesreach that will be
beneficial to all of Ashtan. However, I would like to make clear that I
have no intentions of returning to Ashtan once my research is completed.
I will remain a citizen of Spinesreach to continue my scholarship in
various other phenomena that require answers.
