A Response

Mykel,

Operating under the assumption that you have killed before, and I
assume, you've been killed, I offer the following, generalizable truth:

The Hunt encompasses some degree of choice.

For example, You must first agree to join the arena and battle your
opponent. If you are fighting, you have the choice to flee. You also
have the choice to give mercy to your opponent; you have the choice to
kill. You have many options, of which you are free to exercize.

Given this fact, I fail to see how forcing animals to fight could be
considered "acceptable". There is nothing natural about being born in a
cage, bread to fight, and forced to kill unnecessarily.

There is no choice offered to the animals. They must kill, or they will
be killed. They cannot flee. They have never tasted what it is like to
be wild.

I fail to see how forcing animals into such a situation for
*ENTERTAINMENT* is acceptable in your eyes, or in anyones.

If we, as a collective, condone throwing unwilling animals in a pit, and
watching them fight to the death.. Why not novices? Shouldn't we be able
to throw our children into a pit and have them kill each other? Wont
that be fun to bet on?

We, the Forestals, do not wish to deprive the farmers of their fun,
rather, we wish for them to enjoy entertainments which do not require
perverse killing of the innocent.

To end on a more positive note, I must say that I have been pleased with
the contact between the Forestals and the City of Spinesreach, and look
forward to working together. There are many more productive forms of
entertainment which have yet to be explored, which do not include the
forced killing of animals. Spinesreach has always been an innovative
city, I have great faith that this issue will be resolved to meet the
needs of the city, as well as the desires of the forestals.
