Duh and like responses

Draiman's answer to your most recent appeal, though
seemingly one more of those we-don't-care shrugoffs that
people find necessary to waste their gold on, is actually
very much to the point in this particular case, albeit
with a slight modification. It is not just the vampires
of Aetolia that do not care, it is any vampires in any
possible world that do not care at the most fundamental
level.

They avail themselves of an everlasting physical
existence because they do not care for the place that will
be left for future generations. They do not care for their
own fellows because their existence is all take and no
give. In previous discussions vampires were often accused
of feasting on the blood of other creatures, to which
vampires would always retort that any natural predator
does likewise. While true, that is beside the point. When
a lion or a shark dies, it leaves a nice smelly corpse for
other creatures to draw their sustenance of. Mortals, when
they die, at least leave their heads as trophies. In the
end, they always return what was given to or taken by them.

On the other hand, anything that goes into a vampire never
comes out again. They are like walking black vortexes that
suck the energy out of everyhing that surrounds them and will
ultimately bleed the world int nothingness. The only way to
continue one's existence in this way is by not really caring
about anything except for their personalselves. Even the Chylde
that they sire is not a gift to the world but just another
object of domination.

It is sometimes said that when a mortal accepts the Embrace
its soul is lost and an evil demon takes its place. Actually,
we are talking about the most hideous demon of all, the demon
of Ego. It is not so much that vampires don't care, it is that
those who do not care are already vampires in the deepest of
their hearts.

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Slyphian, in the year 168 MA.
