Ahh I love the smell of dead Leaves in the morning

Greetings Aetolians!

As many of you are no doubt aware... I, Jaeharn Al`kaern, have returned
from my Torpor. For the past 7 or so years I have been mostly absent
from these lands, and as such a minor facet in the political backdrop of
Sapience. First off, I wish to congratulate the new Bloodlochians on
throwing off the chains of oppression so wound about them by the fool
Abhorash. It is my continuing hope that they will continue to foster
relations with Mortality, perhaps even to the point of eventually
ordering their guards to cease offensive actions against
non-citizens(Assuming this has not yet been done).

I do have plans to work on fostering the fledgling House Al`kaern soon,
and I hope that the past animosities between myself and the organization
of Bloodloch can be set aside. I am only one man, Immortal or not, and
cannot protect my Childer against bands of marauders and hateful
assaults.

Setting those two matters aside, I come upon the foolish Herb Ban set
down by the Tree-huggers. The Druids and the Sentinels, in their
all-powerful "Me Me Me" attitude, have succumbed to one of the most
delightful emotions in existence. Fear!

The Druids and Sentinels, your kind Mortals in arms, have fallen into
the throws of absolute terror. It is so painfully obvious that I can
nearly smell the stench of it wafting through the forests.
Exterminations, "recent and rampant" to quote Margali, have occured.
Joy! I must confess that knowing of this brings me great pleasure,
because it will foster a new War. I am a man of Valor, a seeker of
Arion, and the idea of foolish Mortals tossing out bans and restrictions
like water from a fall sets my blood flowing(A figure of speech, as my
blood is mostly stagnant in my decaying flesh).

The Tree-Huggers did a most assuredly foolish thing. They did, as I have
said, succumb to Fear. Rather then inquiring heavily and speaking with
the "Exterminators" in question, they foolheartedly created a ban. Let
me explain why this is a most foolish measure. To begin with, a ban is a
declaration of Hostility. In Margali's words, ".... decree a full-scale
herb and vial ban to anyone not known personally to them to be a
supporter and protector of Nature...." This says, "If you don't protect
our Nature, you're a bad person, and we will take away your supply.". To
my learned mind, and I would suspect others as well, that comprises
hostility to me.

Of course, they leave a gap in their logic. "Nature". What is "Nature"?
There are many definitions and concepts, ideas and possibilities, on
just what "Nature" is. Now very likely they mean "Nature" as in the
Forest. However, this is completely and totally.. Well.. Wrong! Nature
is all things natural, be it forest, dirt, air, or water. Any single one
of them that has ever killed another NATURAL being(Pixies, imps anyone?)
has not fully supported and protected Nature. Very likely I'll be called
as trying to mince words, and I will agree that I am. Before you enforce
a ban you need to make sure that there is no question as to just who you
are banning. Fools

The second reason this is foolish draws off of the first. Hostility
creates anger, anger creates backlash. It is a known and proven point
that when you anger someone, there will be consequences. When you punish
someone, which is likely what the Tree huggers are trying to do, you
definately anger them. There will be reprecussions, and these
reprecussions will be rightfully earned. Rather then discussing and
attempting diplomatic means, you druid and sentinel fools have blundered
into a situation that will be incredibly painful for you. I may not be
all knowing and all powerful like the Druids and Sents obviously are,
but I sure know that when you want someone to stop doing something you
don't taunt them anymore. The Exterminators hold your groves in their
hands, and you go off and make a foolish action like punishing them..
What are you thinking?

Now that I've explained my beliefs and views on the situations.. I'll
explain what to do. First off... Destroy. Exterminate and burn every
grove and forestal location in Sapience. Begin with areas of Importance
to them, preferably near their precious Eleusis. Systematically butcher
every single grove and forest area until they beg for mercy. They
believe they have the upper hand, however any fighter has enough herbs
to last him for a long time. The Exterminators control the Duiran
Council, not the other way around. The Tree Huggers made a very foolish
mistake, and lashed out at EVERYONE. Therefor it stands to reason that
EVERYONE will respond with massive force, and punish them for their
misactions. They made a mistake, they deserve to be punished for it.
This is a very good chance for Sapience to cooperate and demonstrate
that no pair of entities(Non-Divine entities anyhow) has the right to
assault and punish the entire continent on a whim

Eagerly watching the developments,
Jaeharn Al`kaern
