The trials of ineffectual communication

Your Imperial Highness,

I think you mistake my point. Nowhere have I attempted to
state the purpose of the council, nor have I attempted to
state what is not the purpose of the council. In fact, all
I would like to point out is that the apparent steadfastness and
unity of the council is not derived from the same purpose as
some might believe.

Let me clarify, as an individual, what I mean. Now some may
say I twist words in this event, but I will endeavour to do
my best to present a coherent, and unbiased view of my opinion.

Some have asked me why I entered the side of the totem and its
purpose of shading the lovely streets of Tasur'ke. In all
honesty, the soul reason was because I was threatened. Fear is a
valuable thing, as I'm sure you are most familiar, for your
prowess in battle is well known about the land. However, fear
is also, in many ways, an unpredictable thing.

As a Druid, and not as a member of the Duiran council, my primary
responsbility is to ensure certain liveliness in the forests
and to preserve rites that have passed from under the eyes of
even the immortals. Under this charge comes the very tangible
requirement that I renew life to those areas that have become
desolate, or exterminated as the case was.

I could go into large tomes ample in volume of why it was not
really necessary to go about the exterminations in Tasur'ke. In
fact, the populace seems to be going on well, without exterminating,
for which I am extremely grateful.

However, as the story goes, when I attempted to rejuvenate the
life into the room, I was immediately threatened and told I would
be killed. Thus fear set in, and as unpredictable as it normally is,
instead of cowering, it forged me into steel, and I counteracted.

You see, rather than threatening an action based on a group I belong
to, my very being and soul was threatened. I was told not to do things
that if the fear had tempered my resolve to do them, I would be no
more than a traitor to the cause of the Druids.

Now, I am in no way claiming the Druids, as a guild, follow the
charges and the codicils I have held firmly in my heart. But I am
saying that to believe that what I do is for the strength of Haern's
cause, or was in anyway influenced by any action of Haern or his
followers, is a misplaced belief.

Although I think I have addressed this issue above, my use of the
misnomer of city doesn't really attack my philosophy system in any
way. What it comes down to is that any group that uses the art
of extermination to further their cause is not a friend of mine, and
those who then attempt to stop me from using my abilities to further
mine own cause is my enemy.

I hope this clarifies my point of view, and sheds light upon the fact
that certain beliefs you may have held as common, as not, in fact.
You might question, in your spare time, and in a fair manner, why some
of those working against you do the things they do. I am actually
intrigued when I hear a level-minded post from either side that is
rational, and factual. I am, as my previous posts indicated, mildly
amused when those who have no firm argumentation skills are chosen as
your herald boys.

You have proven yourself highly in my eyes, Prince Zahmekoses. Though
it comes from a mere mortal as myself, my respect for you is nonetheless
real.

Mnemosyne

Penned by my hand on the 25th of Haernos, in the year 70 MA.
