Ashtan

As much as it pains me to do this, for I consider Anashia a friend of
mine, I have to speak up on this.Sadly what Ikne said is true, while not
about the city of Ashtan as a whole but definitly about Ravek.

Up until a few years ago I was a citizen in Ashtan as well as an aide to
three ministries. One day I teleported Ashtan from a fight at a
landmark. A few moments later Ravek entered the room and told me that I
had to leave the city area. As soon as I move a room to the south
Daskalos, who was not even at the mentioned fight, entered the room and
asked Ravek if he could kill me now. Well it's always a nice feeling to
get sold out by your city leadership. Not very interested in dying I
decided to leave the realm right now, which removed me from the city of
Ashtan as well. A bit later Ravek called me to him and told me that he
found me guilty of a breach of sanctuary law and gave me a fine of 5k,
2k to the person I fought with and 2 year of enemy status.

If you read the ashtan law you'll find out the sancutary law says that
entering a city right after beeing in a conflict is only forbidden for
non-citizens. But since I needed a moment to summon my minions after me
it could be argued that I was battling inside the city, and I was having
to much on my hands anyway so it saved me to make the decision what to
quit. I should have contested that rather strange ruling at that time
but I didn't, I simply accepted it. These 2 years later I talked to
Ravek again who then told me that he, in agreement with the council (or
so he claimed), had set my punishment to 10k and 8 years for 4 sanctuary
breaches. That I'm supposed to have breached the same law that did not
even applied 4 times in one incident now what truly pissed me off. The
simply explanation for this paradox is that it's simply Ravek's way for
bending the Ashtan laws to his liking to get rid of people that he can't
stand, like necromancers. I had hoped to solve this issue by talking
privatly to Anashia and Spiegel, but without any results, so I hereby
publicy ask the city of ashtan to act according to it's own laws and
ponder if it really wants a man in it's leadership who so obvious
doesn't care about the balance, fairness or the ashtan constitution but
only about his own agenda.

Penned by my hand on the 20th of Variach, in the year 165 MA.
