Return to mortality has given me the mixed blessing of emotions I had
long thought banished from my mind. Like pity.

Any scholar of the last days of the Ankyrean age can tell you that the
incompetent Zsarachnor's blood never could and never did bear sentient
fruit. Even if Zsarachnor had wanted this insolent whelp (which my spies
informed me he most emphatically did not), his putrid blood could never
have accommodated her foolish plan. Yet still she gnashes her teeth,
wails to the wind, and curses everyone - even the Lord Creator - for her
self-inflicted misery.

Yes, pity is an unpleasant emotion. I did not miss it.
