the Tenets of Change

Greetings all gathered,
In the aftermath of the previous post scribbled by her Grace, Sabina, I
was forced to deal with another bout of surprise at what people commonly
seem to believe as Lady Slyphe's tenets and workings. In the eye of
clarifying these misconceptions, I have taken the time and liberty to
expand slightly on the basic teachings and attempted to enlighten these
for the benefit of those interested. Of course, many of you will not
have the slightest bit of interest in this subject, and I urge everyone
to only read these words if truly looking for a better understanding,
for other reading will only be received in a biased view.
First of all, and perhaps most importantly, even though Lady Slyphe is
the Epitome and Embodiment of Change, She is not interested in just
blindly casting the world around Her in a churning maelstrom of
perpetual Change and Chaos. This is a tenet seen among nearly all the
Gods; Lord Rahn does not go around perfecting everything He meets, Lord
Galleus does not impose Order on all organizations He patrons and Lady
Lleis does not Renew anything She lays Her eyes on. The Teachings set
fort by Lady Slyphe and most of the other Gods use Their followers and
devotees as a centre from which to spread Their Teachings and interests,
a Deity sets an example, puts for Teachings and upholds Tenets, and only
through the actions of Their followers can these concepts spread
throughout the realm.
The Teachings of Lady Slyphe as interpreted and implemented by most of
Her followers involve the initiation and distribution of Change to
induce Progress, turning their efforts to where they shall do most good.
While Chaos is a natural part of Her Teachings, it is not actively
sought after by Her followers for various reasons. Prime among this is
that progress is hard to obtain in Chaos, it is not a state in which
mortals generally thrive but also, total Chaos is in fact a paradox in
itself. When everything is perpetually changing, no actual change is
made, as one can only define Change by relating it to Stability, when
everything is changing perpetually, everything is in fact staying the
same.
If we understand this, the means by which She interacts with the realm
are suddenly a lot more logical and understandable. Change must be
induced with care, and it is possibly even more important to know what
not to change as opposed to what we are to change. In this light, it
becomes clear that Change needs to be brought about by followers, as
opposed to Her, if one was to go to Lady Slyphe and demand that She
change something, this balance that the mortals of the realm have
created would be disturbed, which might lead to the state of Chaos
discussed earlier.
Lady Slyphe will of course always support Change, and a serious attempt
to change something big or worthwhile, shall nearly always receive Her
blessing.
Sincerely,
Omeg Tyrell
