More than a dream?

Dear People of Sapience:
Although I have not required sleep for many years, and thus seldom have
an opportunity to dream, I do take a short nap now and then. Last month,
instead of one of the usual dreams from my younger days, I experienced a
horrific vision which was so far out of the nature of ordinary dreams
that I feel it must hold some portent. Possibly many of you have
experienced this dream, but I am posting about it here to draw attention
to the possibility that the Divine are attempting to warn us of some
impending occurrence.
Whether this is a warning which may allow us to avert a disaster, if
only we can interpret it and take action to prevent it, or whether it is
merely a portent of dire but unavoidable events, I cannot say -- yet I
feel an urgency about communicating this, so that anyone who may be able
to shed light upon it has the opportunity to do so. Here is the dream:
You find yourself flying on the wings of a cold wind. Ahead, you see the
grim spires of some strange structure, violent green flames flickering
within its depths. You find yourself in a large chamber where a man
wreathed in red flames is suspended in midair, held by a horrific web of
writhing serpents. His face is contorted in such agony that you are
shocked to hear a whimper of pleasure escape His tortured lips. Flames
writhe about His naked form, shifting from pure red to green. Suddenly,
you become aware of another presence in the chamber - a woman so
beautiful and so cruel in Her appearance that your breath is momentarily
taken away. She extends Her hands towards the burning man, and you find
yourself writhing in the agony and ecstasy along with the God of Fire,
torn between hatred and an impossible adoration of the sadistic Goddess
before you.
Again, perhaps many of you have experienced this dream, and if so that
is all the more reason to believe that the Divine are attempting to warn
us. This seems far too ominous, and too laden with evocative detail, to
be classified with the ordinary run of dreams. I encourage anyone who
may recognize elements in the dream -- perhaps a chamber with spires? a
man wreathed in red and/or green flames? the serpents which hold the man
suspended? -- to share your insights, for all our sakes.
The Open University of Sapience (see CLANHELP UNIVERSITY) has a
department of dream research, and would welcome your thoughts on this
and other dreams. Perhaps others organizations would be of help in this
as well. In any case, it seems prudent that we follow up on this and
similar portents (if you have any other signs or dreams to share, please
come forward with them), for it seems to me that the Divine do not give
such messages lightly.
Thank you in advance for any insights you may share.
