Clarification

Dear people of Sapience:
Rhaea and I spoke after her last post, and we both agreed that it would
be best, for the sake of those who do not know us well, that I point out
that there is no conflict or rivalry between the Academie and the
University. Neither of us intended to offend or slight the other in any
way, but since this board is so frequently used for strife and
contention, perhaps it is best to spell this out explicitly.
I did acknowledge the efforts of Rhaea and the others in my post,
althought not by name. I think everyone in Sapience is aware of Rhaea's
valiant and devoted efforts to heal and protect the Tree. The reason I
posted is this: apart from this handful of dedicated people, I have not
seen any effort being made. And I believe this matter is far too
significant for the rest of us to remain complacent.
All who know me realize how little time I have to spare, even for
posting let alone research. But I care passionately about the well-being
of Sapience and its people, hence my posting what I have hoped is a
rallying call to come to the aid of the Tree, and to the aid of those
who are earnestly seeking to heal and protect the Tree. It would, in my
opinion, be selfish and negligent for me to merely go about my usual
business without at least making this effort.
Now, to clarify a couple of points which Rhaea raised: First of all, I
have been privately informed that the situation with Yggdrasil is indeed
most dire, despite any appearances that it is partly healed or
stabilized. My sources asked that their names not be used, and of course
I am honoring their wishes, but the public should be aware the Tree's
condition may be even worse than it appears.
Secondly, I heartily agree with Rhaea that the last thing Yggdrasil
needs is more meddling or thoughtless tampering. My hope was to rouse
people to put intelligent effort into researching and collaborating to
produce a cure for the Tree, not in any way to encourage impetuous or
ill-considered experimentation.
If this whole sorry mess has taught us anything, I hope it has taught us
that our dear World is fragile. If we abuse it, we can cause harm which
may be irreparable. It takes far more intelligence and diligence to
create than to destroy, far more strength and substance to heal than to
wound. Let those of use who claim any honor or virtue whatsoever offer
what help we may to this cause.
The Open University of Sapience and the Academie Naturale are
collaborating in this, as are any and all who help us, whether secretly
or openly. Anyone who sincerely wishes to help is welcome to do so via
either organization, or both. I can only hope that enough people will
put forth enough effort, in the right directions, soon enough, to save
the sacred Tree from the taint which currently plagues it.
Ask yourself if you hope to ever use the Tree's healing powers to
benefit yourself or anyone you care about. Then please look into your
heart to see how you may be of assistance to Yggdrasil in its hour of
need.
