Aetherys and concerned Aetolians alike,
I have been taking care of Yggdrasil since the day it was discovered
that it was corrupted.
We have presented and attempted many cures in this duration. By we I
mean the Lifesingers, The Duiran, the Sentinels, the Druids, and all
those interested in the wellbeing of the tree and the flame.
The following have been exicuted, to varying degrees of success.
1. A ritual was preformed, with which the presence of The Triad was
brought forth. As you may or may not recall, the flame had a distinctly
foul odor when it was corrupted for the first time. After our ritual,
the scent of fallen leaves interlaced the foul odor, both at the flame,
and at the roots of Yggdrasil.
2. We attempted to tap the tree and remove the corrupted sap. This was
tried twice, due to... conflicting circumstances.
Due to our attempts, Yggdrasil - the tree, that is - is almost
comlpetely rid of the Corruption. A quick trip down to the roots will
show you that the scars caused by the liquid corruption have healed.
It is the flame now that is flickering due to 'corruption overload'.
Although cause for concern, I would not preach absolute urgency. It has
been flickering for little over a year now, and it is my suspicion that
we still have time left before it will die out on us completely. As it
is, my current theory is that it has reached an equlibrium of sorts. The
flame is not healthy, by any means, and will not survive another dose of
corruption, but I believe that it will remain quite alive, even though
in a weakened state.
Clumsy attempts to cure the flame will only end up hurting it more,
clumsy interference even moreso.
That being said, the Academie Naturale Clan has been devoted to this
cause for some time. I would hope that University would be willing to
share knowledge with the clan, as i'm sure the clan will be towards the
University.
If anyone requires further clarification as to what has been done, what
has been learned, and what has been planned, feel free to Contact me.
