Ruminations

In light of recent posts, and serious ruminations on my part, I feel
compelled to write upon the subjects of Good, Evil, and Vampirism in
general - again. Anyone with a sharp mind can take what they will from
these thoughts of mine, and being only opinions that are completely my
own, I would hope no one inferrs more into them than what is really
there. I would also warn those of you looking for fault in my thoughts
that I see my supposed 'hypocrisy' but then again, what would Sapience
be without a touch of it? With that said, ignore or read on, as your own
will suits.
First, I would like to thank anyone who would see me and my race as
'pure evil'. I had no idea that simple beings walking Sapience could be
'Pure' anything, and thus reasoning that we are perfect. Pure, by
definition, means free from taint, blemish, impurity, from moral fault
or guilt, that which would vitiate, weaken or pollute. Anything
posessing such qualities of pureness could easily be said to be perfect,
no matter what form it may take. I would come before you and humbly pen
that as much as anyone would like to believe this, it is simply, and
unfortunately, not true. I claim not to be a Divine, and would leave
purity of any form, be it Evil or Good, to them and them alone. One
could perhaps argue that We are a pure form of mortals, since we do not
grow aged and infirmed, are not unsusceptible to sickness and disease,
and of course, posessing superior minds and bodies. The opposite, of
course, could be aruged as well - these things are what make opinions
just that, opinions.
Second, I would contend that everyone is apatheic - the word everyone
seems so fond of as of late. Phlegmatic is a much more descriptive and
telling synonym of what our time has become. This isn't to point
fingers, but rather to question why of many of us. Why have we all
fallen prey to trepidation and not acted? By acting, I do not simply
mean combat, although that is only one form of conflict resolution,
usually left to those that have no other means of controlling a
situation with well chosen words or sharpness of mind. That being said,
discourse and/or combat will never solve underlying issues, and I
wouldn't expect it to do so. However, it should drive us all to think
about why we act in a fashion of our own choosing and perhaps change our
own attitudes or ways of acting and pursuing our goals. I acknowledge
that there are times when words will never be enough, but by the same
token, combat is not the only way to persuade. Fear should not control
anything that we do, be it reprecussions for penning suchs ideas, as my
own, or fighting for a way of life that you see as right. I have to
admire anyone with convictions, for those without them are easily swayed
by anything.
Third, I claim not to be evil, in simple terms of speaking. 'Nice' and
'Good' and 'Bad' and 'Evil are not so interconnected as one would think.
Anyone capable of thinking can see that not all 'Good' people are what
most would consider to be 'Nice' all the time, and vice versa. If you
think about it, what I am makes me inherently Evil, I would say, but not
necessarily bad. If you think you can destroy something someone is
inherently, then you've never been around people. Inherently evil, fine,
but change what I am, never. Anyone on either side of this conflict
could say the same, I'm sure, and no manner of coersion will change
that, will it? Fight against me, you will never find me seeking a cure
for my supposed 'curse' nor do I think I would see someone who thinks of
themselves as inherently Good fighting against us seeking the Embrace.
Do as you 'think' you must to solve the problem, but do something, as it
were.
Fourth, my race. I myself have been guilty of being phlegmatic. I have
not done things as I should have been all these years. I will proudly
announce that I am Vampire, for it is what I am, and no one shall take
that from me. Base as that word 'Vampire' seems, it should embody what I
am - a stalker, hunter, killer at times. I should not fear being
assaulted if I choose to feed from whomever I see fit. I should not ask
for permission to do so, it is my Divine-given right to take as I
please, for it is what I am. To stalk the night as a predator who does
not fear their prey. To blend in or stand out at will, to control those
of weaker will with my honed mind, and to hunt and kill with my acute
senses. To make those of my own Kind, not when you deem it fit, but when
I, the holder of such gift, deem it so. Arrogant I should be, for I am a
superior being and hunter like no other you will find. It is probably to
our Elders, such as His Highness Prince Zahmekoses Nebre'seir, His
Highness Crown Prince Zoharim Bahir'an, His Grace Grand Duke Utansi
Nebre'seir, and of course, His Majesty Emperor Abhorash Nekehara that we
should look to for example. They are what we all as a race should aspire
to be, in my opinion, as that is all it is. They embody how we should
carry ourselves, how we should see the world - as our own to do with as
we please. Some would disagree, but I'm sure some would agree that we
have been passive for far too long.
Last, I would like to leave you all who have suffered my ramblings with
only a few more words. Let nothing stop you from being what you truly
are inside. Without Good, how do you know that you are Evil?
Interconnected we are, but that should not stop us from showing our true
colors, and proudly. If you have some remark that is burning to be made,
by all means make it. If it's something fairly small that is praising or
insulting, just message me directly. I'd appreciate it and I'm sure
others reading this board would as well.
