Once upon a time the Rite of Prayer provided an opportunity
for all Aetolians to celebrate their common debt of gratitude
towards the Divine. It is sad to see that nowadays is has
become just another instrument of bigotry and class-hatred.
Once upon a time the act of disturbing this rite was universally

considered a sacrilege. It is sad to see that nowadays it can be
constructed as an act of piety.
The Priests of yore were able to touch our hearts with loving
kindness. It is sad to see that the Light-bearers of today can
only touch our nerve-endings with pain.
Let us all pray for the Awakening of One Who shall teach us the
way of Compassion and so heal our broken world.
