Greeting all,
Despite the difficulty of writing such a long post with these paws, I
have felt it to be quite necessary. I will not simply respond to Misty,
but I will also provide you all with some insights into Mischief.
Mischief is something that seems simple yet in reality is extremely
complex, it grows and develops much as people grow and develop. For the
young, Mischief is simple and basic, this could be a simple joke or
something slightly harsher such as someone falling on their bottom!
While they have only just gained a sense of humour and Mischief, simple
things are enough.
As people age though, their demands for humor and Mischief become more
complex; and what was once amusing now provides less entertainment. In
response to this the humour develops, the joke becomes longer, the
insult more thought out, the prank becomes intricate with a risk of
failure that makes success all that much sweeter. With the planning,
thought and creativity that can go into Mischief, there is no way that
it cannot be thought of as complex, a good prank requires effort,
thought, planning and creativity, making it far from simple.
Mischief is truly a thing of many phases of development, yet the ruling
aspect of it is always to have fun. As Mischief develops, an aspect of
seriousness also appears. Some of you may now be thinking that surely
mischief cannot be serious! Well let us take a moment to mention some of
the great mischief makers past and present: Oceania, Raechan, Lessik,
Nightshadow, Brin, Esper, Ansury and Vermillion. Note that the majority
of these people have held a position as either a guild or city leader
dealing with serious issues in a mature and rational manner, yet also
being consisently creative in both humour and pranks.
Of course in the case of Brin, she was responsible for possibly the
biggest prank that ever took place when she convinced the city of Ashtan
it would be a good idea to make her overseer, I don't think we ever
really stopped laughing over that one.
So as you can see, Mischief is simple yet complex, serious yet funny and
constantly evolving and growing with an overall goal of having fun.
Misty I say to you that you are a child of Mischief, at the very start
of your development. What amuses you will also appeal to those in this
same phase, yet the majority of Sapience has developed beyond this phase
and looks to more complex forms of humor and Mischief. You also display
a child's perception of events and conversations, unable it seems to
understand when you have done something wrong; you slowly turn events
round in your mind until you reach a point where you did nothing wrong
and everyone else is the guilty party.
An example of this is when I told you to focus on yourself, which you
turned round to concentrate on being yourself. One suggests a period of
reflection on your own character to examine potential flaws and find
ways to improve yourself, the other suggests doing nothing at all and
remaining as you are.
I will say to you in closing Misty, that I know you are dedicated to Me,
not the MOST dedicated I have, but you are dedicated. I also truly
believe that you could become a valuable asset to My order, providing
you take the time to grow and develop.
Who you are now, Misty, doesn't help My order.
Who you could become will help My order.
Who you want to be is your choice.
