My cleansing of irrationalities

Well,

Being the scholarly vampire I am, I have been following our latest
advancements in Consanguine cleansing. As I have mentioned in previous
posts, I support a Consanguine cure simply because it would be an
excellent way to rid the Blood of the weak and pathetic to purify the
bloodlines and pave way for advancement (after all, an assembly of the
strong will always yield more than an assembly of the strong, weak, and
complaining). As thrilled as I was to read the most recent posts, I must
say I am baffled. Somehow, the absence of common sense and rationale is
void in both experiments listed. To further my own personal goals and
clear some of their confusion, let me begin my cleansing... of
irrationalities. Please note that for the sake of coherence my reply to
Althalus will be in a following post as this post will be long winded
enough as is.

Regarding Public News 2170 as posted by Pythona:

"Pythona reaches out and grasps Ishamael's shoulder. Lowering his head
he speaks in a hushed voice, 'Blooded Ishamael Nahir, childe of Lucimal,
father to none. You are here on your own accord in order to cleanse your
body of the diseased blood it carries. You understand that this has not
been done before and that you place your unlife in our hands in hopes of
being cleansed'."

I suggest considering vampire physiology. If you were able to
successfully drain a vampire of all of his or her blood, he or she would
instantaneously assume his or her ethereal mist form. This isn't a
choice. The lack of blood causes 'death' of the corporeal form and hence
the vampire can no longer contain it. As a result, he or she is -forced-
into his or her ethereal form.

Therefore, since Ishamael did not revert to his ethereal form in your
report, he most certainly had some blood left inside his corporeal,
bodily form.

"... With a final scream Ishamael slams his head into the table with a
grotesque crunch as his body fully erupts in flames. The smoke clears
almost instantly and nothing remains of Ishamael."

At this point, you assume Ishamael to be dead simply because nothing
remains of him. I remind you from my previous comment that this is very
possible and any vampire who has strayed too long in the sun can agree.
Death of the corporeal form results in its utter annihilation. There is
no corpse, etc. that remains. However, the ethereal form is that of a
hazy mist... something that would be quite difficult to discern from all
the smoke arising from the flames.

"A piercing scream erupts through the lands as Ishamael's soul is
consumed in flame and perishes, the echoes of his cry lingering in your
ears."

This raises some serious questions. First, many believe vampires
surrender their soul upon embracement. Regardless of whether you agree
or disagree with this, a soul is an eternal entity unless Divine action
is taken. For example, a necromancer of the highest order possesses the
ability to soul cage. That is, their body can undertake any form of
damage or destruction and as their soul exits their body, it is forced
back inside, restoring it. This happens if someone is beheaded or even
touched by Death himself by the infamous death tarot. The resulting
factor: the body dies, the soul remains. Although it is possible Rahn
took pity on this foolish vampire and permanently dissolved his form,
corporeal and ethereal, from the prime material plane, it is not
something that a sole cabalist and zealot (to my understanding) can
accomplish with some poisoned blood.

In conclusion, I draw from your statements as a vampire to suggest that
Ishamael is not dead. Simply put, for him to die... he would have had to
have been made mortal. In such case, the destruction of his body would
have likely yielded some form of refuse (probably ash considering the
method of death was incineration). Rather, I suggest that he was forced
into his ethereal form and chose not to restore his corporeal form. If
this is the case, there is no method, save Divine intervention, to
verify.

Cordially,

Irawn D'baen
