Public News Post #2079

State of Affairs

Firstly, a little tidbit of news to all the Citizens of Sapience, who I
am sure will be happy to hear these words.

The War is Over.

The cities of Shallam, Duiran and Bloodloch have all made peace treaties
with Ashtan (on their own terms which need not be discussed here) and
the state of war is over.

The Council of Light is still hunting Ashtanite Militia (I assume its
just Militia, until they confirm that I suggest every Ashtanite be on
their alert). This is not exactly an act of war, being as the capture of
territory is not involved, and thus, Sapience can rest assured that the
third great war we have seen is finally over.

Some members of the Council of Light bring forth points against Ashtan
that need to be addressed, though the manner in which they delivered
them lends to the continuation of insult-hurling and name-calling
instead of real soloutions.

First of all, the Ashtanite Council is in a state of reshuffle, which is
being overseen personally by Lady Niuri. Saga shall remain overseer, but
other than that, the Council is likely to change more or less entirely.
The new council will forge its vision for the reconstruction of Ashtan,
which will be supervised and assisted by Bloodloch. Parties that believe
they should have an input on this matter, whether rightly or wrongly,
are welcome to at least voice their opinions. At this time, no one
person has been put fully in charge of the plans, but it would probably
be best to send them in a letter to Saga, or another counciller. This
includes the Council of Light, who evidently has a vision for the change
they wish to occur.

Other plans have been laid down for various specific periods of
reconstruction, in the Political, Economical, Cultural, and Physical
Senses. The specifics of these are between the parties who have agreed
to them, and shall be overseen again by Lady Niuri, and also Lady
Slyphe, who I am lead to believe wishes to assist in various stages of
the reconstruction.

The last line of Lord Rahn's previous post leads me to believe he too
has a vision, or would like to be involved in the reconstruction in some
way. If this is true, arrangements will need to be made so either a
representative or Lord Rahn hiimself should contact the Ashtan
government as soon as possible. This Obviously extends to all other
divinities who feel they would like to lend a helping hand.

In the end, it will be the representatives who decide in which direction
these changes go, but rest assured, the changes will be made and they
are being made soon. The organisations which were involved in the war
have largely been offered amnesties on enemy status for their citizenry,
and so it is safe to once more walk the walls of Ashtan.

Please feel free once more to visit the bastion of the north as it
attempts to get itself back on track. It can certainly no longer be said
that the city of Ashtan is stagnant, as it has many hands making light
work of the change and has a direction being determined as we speak.
Well done, you all accomplished your goal (assuming your goal was what
you said it was).

Gleefully Friend and Ally Once More,
Daelar O'Lyryus, Lord Mhun of Ashtan

P.S. Lets hope some of the anger can filter out of the hearts of those
who I see on these boards. This rage is truly unproductive.
In the end, it will be the representatives who decide in which direction
these changes go, but rest assured, the changes will be made and they
are being mad esoon. The organisations which were involved in the war
have largely been offered amnesties on enemy status for their citizenry,
and so it is safe to once more walk the walls of Ashtan. As much change
as the council can come up with and implement will matter naught if you
all d
