The "rebels" of Ashtan

Greetings,

as citizen of Ashtan, I would like to address any person in Aetolia,
mortal or Immortal, about the common term used to refer people who fight
for Ashtan in the current war.

Even in the fabled website, the recapture of Ashtan is said to have been
accomplished by "the rebels of Ashtan".
I must admit the smartness of our invaders in letting the term "rebels"
become the common way to refer to Ashtan's Militia.
Yet, if you don't stand against Ashtan, then please, don't let this term
trick your mind. "Rebels" are people who fight against a preconstituted
authority, people who "go against the rules".

Ashtan's Militians are not this. Our enemies of the Alliance are not
"the right side" by default. There are no rules to break for us, but
there is a home to defend.

Ashtan's Militia, for everyone of the Citizens of Ashtan, are our
Patriots. They defend our homes. They keep the walls of our City strong
against the people who pretend to destroy every single stone of our
ancestors' heritage.

People of Aetolia, just think - think if it was Your town to be
attacked. What if some people wanted to destroy the square where you
used to play as a child? The streets where you've learned your first
steps in the Realm? The garden where your parents kissed for the first
time? And, if you had people in your town who could stand to defend all
this against the destroyers, would you call them "rebels"?

Please, give the Patriots of Ashtan not only the name, but the honour
they deserve.

In eternal love for Ashtan,

Sarten.

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Khepary, in the year 129 MA.
