The beauty of "freedom"

Malhavoc,

You state in your post that we "gave [Alamar] no other choice". Simply
put, this is laughable.

One of the beautiful things that we mortals have been granted is the
ability to think and reason for ourselves. We are all responsible for
our own actions. The choices we make are all our -own-; we can blame
them on no one else.

With this freedom to make our own choices comes the responsibility to
accept the consequences of said choices.

Duiran entered the war. Alamar was free to make the choice to burn the
forest. The forest has the choice to react and speak out against said
action. Was burning the forest Alamar's only option? Certainly not. He
chose to do it willingly.

If the "offensive capabilities" consist of a single, lonely, hunted
faux-Sentinel, Ashtan is very sad indeed and deserves whatever fate
awaits it.

If striking at the heart of Duiran is the only thing you can do, do not
be surprised when the heart of Sapience strikes you back.

Yours,
Rosalind Ai'lyne
