Public News Post #1804

a city is a city

I would like to write about "Freedom of Choice" for a little bit. First
off, being granted certain freedoms in life means that one doesn't have
to do what one doesn't feel the need to do, and so some people exersize
their rights of freedom by not participating,(Like in this war), there
is also a few other freedoms in which I will go over and eventually a
point to all this writing will be made crystal clear. One freedom that I
hold in particular is the freedom to protest, as one not alligned with
any city, nor guild I choose my freedom carefully to protest an
argument(War) to me (in my humble opinion) to be a slippery slope, or as
one can say, a war in which no side can win and everyone can loose. The
fact is that the Divine has made their own judgments as well as the
Allies, and the defenders and so we set forth this volley of words and
actions in a seemingly neverending attempt to out-due one another with
sophisticated words and more heads on pikes. As soon as one side starts
to have an upperhand in this sometimes ego driven war someone else comes
into play, the tides change and the war continues with someone else in
the spotlite.
At this rate the war can continue for years apon years. Although I
haven't been present for more than the last Ashtan war (In which I did
witness many people rally for her aid and now fight against), I do
realize that War has been present with her for quite a long time.
In order for me to protest this war and hopefully stop this downward
cycle of all civilization I would like to propose an alturnative of
sorts. I do realize that my opinion probably will not sway anyone
involved in the war, but I hope my protest and proposal will get more
people to think of other ways to deal with problems.
Proposal 1:
(It may sound simplistic becuse it is) The war stops, People of Ashton
have the freedom to stay or leave, The city.. no The Country of
Bloodloch takes over the land and people can watch as the city becomes
more like its older sister Hashan. Walls can fall, the city can be burnt
and rebuilt to form a new city or whatever.

Proposal 2:
The war stops, People of Bloodloch goes home knowing in their hearts
that they fought a brilliant fight. The Divine have their way and Ashtan
is distroyed in favor of a new forest, or a new city, or both.

As I have learned from nature and my druid friends, Sometimes fire can
help a forest grow bigger and better, if this is true for the nature of
us then let us take this experience of war and grow a new sapience in
which Greed doesn't outweigh our disires for power. (Who would have
known that something good could come out of war?)
Again, this is my opinion on current events, you can either use your
freedom of choice to respond to my ramblings with even more petty
ramblings, you can choose to just read past this note and go on with
your happy self, another choice is to read this post with an open mind
and allow yourself to think in other ways rather than "I live on a hill
I can either go up or down!". Life is full of choices and so Either you
read this note fully and understood the subtle points or you made your
judgement even before reading the note. In either case I hope I have
planted some seeds of change in your own personal garden.
