Salutations once more,

Like many others, I own a shop in Ashtan. A thriving shop I might say.
Which - on a side note- makes you wonder what all these people are
talking about when they say Ashtan is dead. Four months ago I choose to
remove all my stock from this shop. And stopped paying my taxes,
although I must admit none were due yet.

I felt, with multiple armies approaching Ashtan, my stock might be safer
somewhere else. For who knows what happens if the Government would fall,
some might start looting etc etc.

I soon noticed other shop owners doing the same. It so happened that I
was trying to sell my shop at the same time to, but affraid of future
events, all lost intrest in buying it. I now see other shops for sale
around the city.

All this encourages your enemies Ashtan, it shows you are dying.
Regardless of what you believe will happen to your city, what will
happen to your city...It makes it look like you are lost already. I
suggest you offer somekind of refund for your shopkeepers, that payed
taxes for so many years. Taxes surely intended to protect us,
shopkeepers, to. This might make people stay, give people hope.
