Numerological Theory

This post is in regards to a Theory I have about the nature of things,
and some possible applications of such.

In order to make the points I am trying to make I will need to refer to
Numerological studies, but as I know that very few people are
sufficiently knowledgable in such things, I will as much as possible
attempt to include explanations coherent and simple enough to allow any
and all readers of this post to follow with relative ease.

To those of you unaware of Numerology, it is a study not of one specific
discipline area (For example Necromancy, which studies death,
Illumination, which studies light, or Groves, which studies bonding with
the forest in a way that produces what is known as groves). Numerology
is a study of the forces at work behind all things, and understanding
the why, not just the what. By understanding such fundamental drives,
Numerology is applied to a wide range of tasks in whatever area the
practitioner desires. We look at the fundamental forces of Varian's
creation as Numbers, which we name. The reasons for this are too
complicated to go into here, but suffice to say that certain stable
numbers are studied, and the patterns and interactions of these Numbers
are what we observe to create phenomena in this realm.

I have a theory which I have not yet backed up by extensive research. In
Numerology, the number 1, or Yuef as it is known, is considered to be
the number from which all others stem. It is often referred to as "The
Identity", and it is the most pure form in which a number can exist.
When we refer to something's "Yuef", we mean its TRUE identity: The sum
of all the other forces that effect this thing, and essentially a map of
the thing in question. To exist, something must have "A Yuef". No matter
how small or insignificant the thing in question, or the forces
influencing it, it has a Yuef merely by being what it is. This is a
fundamental principal of Numerology, but I base my theory around a
deeper implication of this.

My theory essentially is that every Yuef, of every kind has a Primary
influence. For example, I theorize that all non-sapient life (That is,
Animals, Plants and other such living things) has a primary influence of
Jhako. Jhako is 11, the Number of Balance and order. Jhako teaches us
that in the end, all things will move towards a neutral being, always
getting closer to true equilibrium. Jhako is a number of certainty and
order, because order is essentially the balance of forces involved. In
nature, this process of Equilibrium is prevalent, with all things in the
end balancing out unto a neutrality. Animals and plants act from
preprogrammed instinct, a sign that Jhako is a very big influence in
their lives. They all have a purpose, however small, and through their
combined purposes, Universal equilibrium exists.

Sapients on the other hand have a high degree of influence from Lgakt,
the number 13. Lgakt is the number of chaos and uncertainty, and this is
easily seen in many ways by Emotion. Emotion can be very irrational, and
it comes and goes as it pleases. Also, Sapients tend to be very fickle,
living short and often pointless lives only to disappear into
nothingness once more. Lgakt can also symbolize Love, because Love is
the epitome of Emotion, and it is so uncertain, involving a "Leap of
Faith" of sorts.

The Immortals have a prime influence too, that is, the Number Yi, or 7.
Yi is actually slightly incorrect, it is the closest stable number to
the Number which influences the Immortals that we Numerologists have
uncovered, and seems to share some similarities. We call this other
number the "Unknown Immortal Number", and as I'm sure you could easily
guess, it is unknown to us. Yi reflects this, and is often a symbol of
the Unknown, and mysterious things. It is often used to symbolize the
spirit as well, because many of us are simply able to grasp anything
beyond our own immediate existence. The divine are absoloutley
Omniscient in their realm, nothing is mysterious to them. They create
the mystery within their realm by chosing what to reveal to the mortals,
who cannot fully comprehend the vast ramifications of even the seemingly
tiny realms.

Lastly, physical things are influenced by Jherza, or 5, the Number of
the physical. They merely exist, as a physical object in the physical
space.

Now, those who are already familiar with Numerology will notice that I
have said that nothing has a prime influence of either Ef'tig (2) or
Rafic (3). This is because I believe that Yuef, Ef'tig and Rafic are
what I call "Fundamentals". Yuef is the self, Ef'tig is the force which
allows things to change based on how and where they are percieved from,
and Rafic represents the community of Yuefs and Ef'tigs that amalgamate
into something much larger.

At any rate, there is a point to my theory. I began thinking about this
when someone in Ashtan suggested the creation of a barrier to block
Sunlight elements that were Harmful to Consanguine, while allowing
plants to still grow. I no longer think this is possible, and I intend
to explain why.

It has to do with the ritual in which Yrtez became the first
Consanguine. She was an Ankryean, and Ankryeans were practitioners of
Numerology. She realised just how fickle the sapients were, and she was
probably also aware that their very nature, their Yuef, was as it was
because Lgakt dominated it. She wanted to remove Lgakt from her nature,
as to not be so fickle, but she did not want to offend the Gods by
taking upon the "Immortal Number" (Which they probably knew, but many of
their secrets are lost to us). I believe that she decided to strip
herself of the influence of Lgakt, but, instead of taking upon the
influence of another Number, she instead created some kind of
Numerological protection strong enough that she would now be purely
Yuef.

This has a number of implications. I believe that "The Blood", the
source of Vampiric power, comes from the fact that the Blood is often
symbolic of Identity (and therefore Yuef). It is not uncommon for a
person to talk about, say, "Amaratha Blood" or "Bloodlines" when they
refer to their family. This would tend to implicate that Blood is a
symbol of who you are. As such, the Blood became representative of their
pureness in Yuef. Yuef could become anything and everything, because
Yuef is all things. That is what gives the blood its' potency. With the
right knowledge, the Blood can be worked in fantastic ways, because it
is Yuef incarnate. Vampires were no longer susceptable to Old Age, or
eternal Death, because they had ridded themselves of Lgakt (to eliminate
their temporariality) and were never of Jhako (And therefore destined to
die in the grand scheme). They were free to chose their own destiny,
with the power of the blood.

However, there are two other things which are also purely Yuef. The
first and foremost is Varian. Varian simply is. He is not influenced by
forces, because He IS those forces. Varian is all things, and all things
are Varian. Symbolic of Varian is the Sun, and in Numerology the sun is
almost always symbolized by Yuef. Yuef, however, is a number of
Strength, and does not accept weak challenges. The sun, symbolic of the
true power of Yuef, scorches and burns the skin of these lesser
creatures of Yuef, who have not the ability to manipulate Yuef as
readily as the true Yuef.

Have I lost you yet? My apologies if I have not been as clear as I would
have hoped. Essentially, I believe that the act which gave them their
power is the act which causes this weakness, and as such I do not
believe it can be undone without at least very severly impairing their
power. They steal the blood of others as a physical symbol of stealing
their Identity (And their Yuef). That is how they replenish their power.
They are a predator of Identity. They often feel unemotional because
they have lost the force of emotion, Lgakt. It is true what some Elder
Vampires say, that Emotion will make them weak, because it will.
Accepting Lgakt back into their life will destroy that which makes them
Consanguine.

Perhaps it is possible in this way to cure Vampirism. Reuniting them
with their Lgakt would certainly cause them to have their mortality
back. Perhaps, though, Lgakt is far too uncertain for this to be safe,
as its entirely possible such a thing might be their destruction just as
much as their savior.

It seems though that once the act of converting themselves was done,
they no longer thought they needed to wield the tools by which they were
created. I wonder of the consequences, and the potential, if they were
given those tools once more...

I will be conducting some experiments to confirm or deny my theory, and
some of the implications I have envisioned. I would very much like to
speak with Belladonna about the nature of her ritual but I fear that she
would neither be interested in answering my queries nor interested in
letting me survive the process. As such, I believe that the only way in
which I could possibly study my theories about her is to conduct such an
investigation post humously. I am going to prepare exactly what I shall
need to look into, and then I will put the call out for her corpse. At
that time I will offer 12k for the delivery of her intact corpse. Anyone
who can deliver her alive, willing to cooperate and with little danger
to me or my fellow experimentors will recieve a much, much higher
reward.

Remember, I am not yet ready to deal with the study, I must make
additional preparations, so I do not desire this delivery just yet. I
will soon, though. Thankyou very much for your patience.

Daelar.
