Greetings Sapience,
I have been reading the public news of late and find myself most
disconcerted. For a while now, it would seem that none sees fit to do
anything but make complaints about one thing or another. Each has their
own veiw of how things should be in the lands and if such does not come
to fruition, complains. This is very disheartening as an Aetolian, I see
all these complaints and wonder where indeed are they coming from and
what is the point of them? Does the complaining solve anything other
than causing arguments, further arguments, and strife? Fot the most
part, no. Sometimes the complaints are very valid. Usually when valid
points are made things are done to fix or at least attempt to fix the
situation.
Now, I will go into the current arguments going on about all of the
problems presented by not having a guild, not wishing to be in a guild,
and not having anything worthy to make use of skillwise, or otherwise.
There exists in the lands such a thing as freedom of choice. One is free
to choose whether or not they do something. Whether that something be
joining a guild, or which guild they join, or if they stay classless,
all of these are choices we mortals have the ability, the option, the
right, and are encouraged at all times to make. We ARE encouraged to
join a guild and to find that one niche in life that suits us best, so
that we may enjoy being what we are, Aetolians.
The argument that those without class have nothing to benefit them is
untrue. They have more freedoms than those with class. They have no
requirements other than eating, breathing, sleeping, etc, and even that,
they do not NEED to do unless they wish to survive. Such are basic every
day needs that all share. Those without class may also learn non class
related skills. They may make use of such skills to their benefit. They
do not recieve class related skills such as Elementalism, Subterfuge,
Concoctions, Tekura, etc, as to be to the point THEY DO NOT HAVE CLASS.
That is their choise too. If they wish the skills that exist within a
class, well, then they might wish to consider joining that class.
Whether such be Magi, Syssin, Consanguine (which is not so much a class
really as a state of life or unlife have you), Infernals, Paladins,
Sentinels, you name it, it is up to us to take on one of these classes
and make our way through life. If we choose none, that again, is our
choice. Therein lies the solution to the arguments and the complaints.
These complaints are complaints about your own choices that you made,
none else. You wish a skillset that is not offered to those without
class, join one.
Now, I don't think I could make any more sense than what I have said. If
you don't understand this, then perhaps you should remain without class,
as the guilds might be better off without one decreasing the overall
intelligence of the guilds.
So now I shall take you all back to the general point that this all has.
Complaints more often then not are things that are not even worth the
time it takes to issue them. Instead of opening your mouths and uttering
curses about one thing or another, use that energy instead to make some
beneficial change. If you see something that really gets to you and you
think it has a logical and feasible solution, let Varian know and I'm
sure He would be more than happy to see what may be done. If there is no
solution, if there is no validity, if there is no logical and feasible
way to fix things, then maybe what you are complaining about is not the
real problem. Perhaps the problem is your own perspective and outlook of
such. Maybe, just maybe, you have found something that is beneficial,
useful, and sound, due to your own failings, to be less than
reasonable... If such is the case, as it very well may be, then perhaps
something should be done on a more personal level to solve the problem.
With all that said, let us as Aetolians, please, stop the complaining
and work for a better Sapience. Let us quit TRYING to find fault in
things as if one looks hard enough for a problem, one will always be
found, with anything. When we do find a REAL problem, something that is
extremely harmful, instead of causing turmoil over this failing, let us
work to fix it and help it to become not a problem but a beneficial
tool. Let us turn our disadvantages into our own advantages, and
remember, we all have one thing in common, we are all free to make our
own choices. If we make a choice that leads to problems, remember, it
was our own choices that led us there.
Go with honor, go with glory,
