Hashan

I'm reading with no small amount of interest these recent public posts
about Hashan. I'm also reading about resurrecting the fallen City and/or
protecting the endlessly beautiful Northern forests. Some wish to
reclaim my brethren Troll's homeland for themselves, rid themselves of a
Tyrant (always a good idea, in theory) or clear away the rubble and
fallen statuary or redraw a boundary or two and start afresh.

Meritorious ideas all, of course, but endearingly simplistic - not least
because one or two important points are being forgotten .

Be aware that the ancient Spirit of that place is not easily overlooked
or ignored. The Spirit of Hashan is simultaneously the ruins, the
surrounding forest, the Phase-hounds, the Crater, the Trolls, Lizards -
all of it. The Spirit is and has always been at peace - the whole area
lives in harmony as it now stands fundamentally and historically a
sacred part of Sapience, I have felt. Whatever destroyed this place,
long long ago, it was for -a reason- only our Father, Varian, knows the
whys and the wherefores - we need to be mindful of this at all times.

I plead with you to begin a journey of understanding, then, and seek to
understand what the Spirit is, and how the Spirit may guide you
forwards, without looking back. Looking back is, I believe, pointless.
Open your eyes, ears and hearts to the Spirit. Then and only then will
you stand on more stable ground fit for future foundations, Gods
willing.

This may sound like the ramblings of a madwoman - but it is of little
consequence what words I use here - I defy anyone to spend a week there
in solitude and to -not- feel the Spirit, hear the whispers or otherwise
instinctively know the great depth and significance of Hashan to us all.
Words are so inadequate, aren't they?

That said, it seems appropriate for all interested parties to discuss
amicably and respectfully, any -possible- rebuilding of the fallen City
-I'd truly appreciate it if you include those of us who have called
Hashan our spiritual Home, and who have searched for its essence for
many years now, in those discussions.

You can often find an 'archaeologist' at the Crossroads if you wish to
talk further -smile-

Thank you.
