As is the way with all mortals, so do My followers need to learn of Me,
slowly though it may be. So, due to your polite request, I shall explain
My realm in brief.

Within every mortal soul, there are many innate aspects. Greed and
altruism, the capacity for love and hate, the capacity for renewal and
corruption. These aspects are saplings that, with proper nourishment,
grow and rise to a new power. Often, mortals are shaped by the outside
forces - the actions of people around them, the words of enemies and
friends. But there is another kind of change... The change that comes
from within, not from the forceful choice of the outside world, but of
free will, from an internal motion to be something greater than a
combination of little parts, of little seeds. It is the desire to have
something greater live within you, to break the neutrality that renders
a mortal largely useless as all their aspects cancel each other out.


That is the desire to which Corruption is closely tied. Corruption, in
the sense that it relates to mortals, is a simple statement. It is the
courage to rename your evil as what is best in you, to take the hidden,
the suppressed, the forbidden, and embrace it. And yet, corruption is
not purposeless, nor is it chaotic. You see, the darker aspects of the
soul - whether it be lust, despair, fear, hunger for power, or anything
else - is merely a tool for one who embraces Corruption. It is these
aspects that they master, understand, magnify - until they can CONTROL
them. Everything that made you weak becomes your strength, everything
that made you horrific becomes your virtue. Corruption is nothing more
nor less than the magnification of a soul's natural potential, a
statement and a willing choice to walk down the darker paths.

Corruption knows no limits nor no boundaries. By the very essence and
nature of creation, the potential for Corruption exists in every part of
your lives. Yet the choice to embrace it comes of free will, and that is
the only way one may walk down My path. There is no need for
manipulation, lies or Artifice within Corruption. It is not a force from
without - there is no need for trickery or manipulation. It is done with
full understanding, and brings greater understanding once embraced. It
takes great courage and great dedication to truly embrace Corruption,
and its manifestation in the fullest form is not for everyone. Yet a
seed of it - a seed of Me - lives within all and everything.

Is decay a part of corruption? Absolutely. Yet decay is also a part of
life, of a natural cycle. Is destruction a part of Corruption?
Absolutely not. There is no purpose in destruction. Corruption seeks to
shape from within, not destroy from without. That is the way of thugs,
not the gentle touch of a power that lets you transcend yourself.

Those who are My children understand this, though perhaps not yet in
words. They have embraced Me, and I have embraced them. They are of
greater value to Me than anything else, My children just as I am their
dark Mother. I am a stern Mother at times, for laxity has never
accomplished anything but producing incompetency. And yet, in My
embrace, I welcome them, for they are My chosen - the echoes of My
immortal soul within this land.

It is a hard path to the arms of Corruption... And yet, for those with
enough resolve, enough courage and enough strength of will and mind to
undertake it shall find the soft touch of My realm welcoming them home -
a home that many a wandering soul has tried to find in the darkness of
the Midnight Age.
