He caught his mind beneath the touch
Of her laughter yet
That's not enough:
Your archaic eyes will always see sadly.

I'll take the longer road, with slow winding trails
Beneath the snow.
Imagine life
Without you here in it.

I'll stagger past my home. My Despairing Angel
Forever alone:
Abandon your smiles
My heart's just not in it.

Then spare me the tainted scene, the image
Of this libertine,
Imagine life
Now you are not here.
