A response

You think we weep when we behold the Light?
You think us blind without your precious Spark?
Decrying those of us who love the Night,
Heedless of all the beauty in the Dark.

In Darkness, one sees clear the lovely stars,
And the hajiri bloom before our eyes.
Your turn your face away from all that's ours,
Confusing the Unknown for the Unwise.

I won't yearn for the world I wish to see,
My life, my loves, I shall not disavow.
Thus, your Dawn holds no promises for me,
For I so love the world that I have now.

Motivation from without runs too thin;
I choose to cultivate the Light Within.

Penned by my hand on Closday, the 21st of Chakros, in the year 16 AC.
