Poetry News Post #1896

Words

Words can convey many meanings
In battles ere they were convened
A simple 'bite me'
Can be an invitation to an enemy
Or a simple laughing matter

Words can carry across the deepest Truth
And they can be used to deceive
A simple 'do it'
Can be used to bring about the ruined
Or a cheer of encouragement

Words can be misunderstood when
Emotions run deeper than deep
A simple phrase
Can cause friendships to be dismayed
Or a jest to be realised so

Words of course are ours to wield
And clarity after they are spoken can be had
A simple 'I'm sorry'
Can break the chill of anger and pain
To heal friendships again.

Penned by my hand on Tisday, the 16th of Chakros, in the year 502 MA.
